Psalms 56:1Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.Be merciful unto me, O God; for man would swallow me up: All the day long he fighting oppresseth me. Psalms 56:2My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, For they are many who fight proudly against me.Mine enemies would swallow me up all the day long; For they are many that fight proudly against me. Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me: for my soul trusteth in thee. And in the shadow of thy wings will I hope, until iniquity pass away.Mine enemies would swallow [me] up all the day long; for they are many that fight against me haughtily.
Psalms 56:3When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee. I will cry to God the most High; to God who hath done good to me.In the day that I am afraid, I will confide in thee.
Psalms 56:4In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?In God (I will praise his word), In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; What can flesh do unto me? He hath sent from heaven and delivered me: he hath made them a reproach that trod upon me. God hath sent his mercy and his truth,In God will I praise his word, in God I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can flesh do unto me?

All their thoughts are against me for evil.All the day long they wrest my words: All their thoughts are against me for evil. and he hath delivered my soul from the midst of the young lions. I slept troubled. The sons of men, whose teeth are weapons and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.All the day long they wrest my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.
Psalms 56:6They conspire and lurk, Watching my steps, they are eager to take my life.They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, They mark my steps, Even as they have waited for my soul. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory above all the earth.They gather themselves together, they hide themselves; they mark my steps, because they wait for my soul.

Psalms 56:8You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book?Thou numberest my wanderings: Put thou my tears into thy bottle; Are they not in thy book? My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready: I will Sing, and rehearse a psalm.*Thou* countest my wanderings; put my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
Psalms 56:9Then shall my enemies turn back in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.Then shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call: This I know, that God is for me. Arise, O my glory, arise psaltery and harp: I will arise early.Then shall mine enemies return backward in the day when I call: this I know, for God is for me.
Psalms 56:10In God, I will praise his word. Psalms 56:11I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid; What can man do unto me? For thy mercy is magnified even to the heavens: and thy truth unto the clouds.In God have I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can man do unto me?
