Psalms 80:1Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock, You who sit above the cherubim, shine forth.Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that sittest [above] the cherubim, shine forth. Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for Asaph himself.To the Overseer. `On the Lilies.` A testimony of Asaph. A Psalm. Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Leading Joseph as a flock, Inhabiting the cherubs shine forth,
Psalms 80:2Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might, Come to save us.Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy might, And come to save us. Rejoice to God our helper: sing aloud to the God of Jacob.Before Ephraim, and Benjamin, and Manasseh, Wake up Thy might, and come for our salvation.
Psalms 80:3Turn us again, God. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved.Turn us again, O God; And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel: the pleasant psaltery with the harp.O God, cause us to turn back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
Psalms 80:4Yahweh God of hosts, How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?O Jehovah God of hosts, How long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? Blow up the trumpet on the new moon, on the noted day of your solemnity.Jehovah, God of Hosts, till when? Thou hast burned against the prayer of Thy people.
Psalms 80:5You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in large measure.Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in large measure. For it is a commandment in Israel, and a judgment to the God of Jacob.Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears, And causest them to drink With tears a third time.
Psalms 80:6You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors; And our enemies laugh among themselves. He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not.Thou makest us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies mock at it.
Psalms 80:7Turn us again, God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved.Turn us again, O God of hosts; And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets.God of Hosts, turn us back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
Psalms 80:8You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it.Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt: Thou didst drive out the nations, and plantedst it. Thou calledst upon me in affliction, and I delivered thee: I heard thee in the secret place of tempest: I proved thee at the waters of contradiction.A vine out of Egypt Thou dost bring, Thou dost cast out nations, and plantest it.
Psalms 80:9You cleared the ground for it. It took deep root, and filled the land.Thou preparedst [room] before it, And it took deep root, and filled the land. Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me,Thou hast looked before it, and dost root it, And it filleth the land,
Psalms 80:10The mountains were covered with its shadow. Its boughs were like God's cedars.The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, And the boughs thereof were [like] cedars of God. there shall be no new god in thee: neither shalt thou adore a strange god.Covered have been hills [with] its shadow, And its boughs [are] cedars of God.
Psalms 80:11It sent out its branches to the sea, Its shoots to the River.It sent out its branches unto the sea, And its shoots unto the River. For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.It sendeth forth its branches unto the sea, And unto the river its sucklings.
Psalms 80:12Why have you broken down its walls, So that all those who pass by the way pluck it?Why hast thou broken down its walls, So that all they that pass by the way do pluck it? But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me.Why hast Thou broken down its hedges, And all passing by the way have plucked it?
Psalms 80:13The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.The boar out of the wood doth ravage it, And the wild beasts of the field feed on it. So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions.A boar out of the forest doth waste it, And a wild beast of the fields consumeth it.
Psalms 80:14Turn again, we beg you, God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,Turn again, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine, If my people had heard me: if Israel had walked in my ways:God of Hosts, turn back, we beseech Thee, Look from heaven, and see, and inspect this vine,
Psalms 80:15The stock which your right hand planted, The branch that you made strong for yourself.And the stock which thy right hand planted, And the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. I should soon have humbled their enemies, and laid my hand on them that troubled them.And the root that Thy right hand planted, And the branch Thou madest strong for Thee,
Psalms 80:16It is burned with fire. It is cut down. They perish at your rebuke.It is burned with fire, it is cut down: They perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. The enemies of the Lord have lied to him: and their time shall be for ever.Burnt with fire cut down, From the rebuke of Thy face they perish.
Psalms 80:17Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, On the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, Upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and filled them with honey out of the rock.Let Thy hand be on the man of Thy right hand, On the son of man Thou hast strengthened for Thyself.
Psalms 80:18So we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call on your name.So shall we not go back from thee: Quicken thou us, and we will call upon thy name. And we do not go back from Thee, Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call.
Psalms 80:19Turn us again, Yahweh God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved. Psalm 81 For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath.
