| Psalms 43:1 | Vindicate me, God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation. Oh, deliver me from deceitful and wicked men. | Be my judge, O God, supporting my cause against a nation without religion; O keep me from the false and evil man. | Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; deliver me from the deceitful and unrighteous man. | Unto the end, for the sons of Core, to give understanding. |
| Psalms 43:2 | For you are the God of my strength. Why have you rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? | You are the God of my strength; why have you put me from you? why do I go in sorrow because of the attacks of my haters? | For thou art the God of my strength: why hast thou cast me off? why go I about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? | We have heard, O God, with our ears : our fathers have declared to us, The work, thou hast wrought in their days, and in the days of old. |
| Psalms 43:3 | Oh, send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill, To your tents. | O send out your light and your true word; let them be my guide: let them take me to your holy hill, and to your tents. | Send out thy light and thy truth: *they* shall lead me, *they* shall bring me to thy holy mount, and unto thy habitations. | Thy hand destroyed the Gentiles, and thou plantedst them : thou didst afflict the people and cast them out. |
| Psalms 43:4 | Then I will go to the altar of God, To God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God. | Then I will go up to the altar of God, to the God of my joy; I will be glad and give praise to you on an instrument of music, O God, my God. | Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto the ùGod of the gladness of my joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God, my God. | For they got not the possession of the land by their own sword : neither did their own arm save them. But thy right hand and thy arm, and the light of thy countenance : because thou wast pleased with them. |
| Psalms 43:5 | Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, The saving help of my face, and my God. Psalm 44 For the Chief Musician. By the sons of Korah. A contemplative psalm. | Why are you crushed down, O my soul? and why are you troubled in me? put your hope in God, for I will again give him praise who is my help and my God. | Why art thou cast down, my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my countenance, and my God. | Thou art thyself my king and my God, who commandest the saving of Jacob. |
