Psalms 75:1We give thanks to you, God, We give thanks, for your Name is near. Men tell about your wondrous works.<To the chief music-maker; put to Al-tashheth. A Psalm. Of Asaph. A Song.> To you, O God, we give praise, to you we give praise: and those who give honour to your name make clear your works of power.{To the chief Musician. 'Destroy not.' A Psalm of Asaph: a Song.} Unto thee we give thanks, O God, we give thanks; and thy name is near: thy marvellous works declare it.Unto the end, in praises, a psalm for Asaph: a canticle to the Assyrians.
Psalms 75:2When I choose the appointed time, I will judge blamelessly. When the right time has come, I will be the judge in righteousness. When I shall receive the assembly, I will judge with equity. In Judea God is known: his name is great in Israel.
Psalms 75:3The earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars. Selah. When the earth and all its people become feeble, I am the support of its pillars. (Selah.)The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have established its pillars. Selah. And his place is in peace: and his abode in Sion:
Psalms 75:4I said to the arrogant, "Don't boast;" To the wicked, "Don't lift up the horn.I say to the men of pride, Let your pride be gone: and to the sinners, Let not your horn be lifted up.I said unto the boastful, Boast not; and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:There hath he broken the powers of bows, the shield, the sword, and the battie.
Psalms 75:5Don't lift up your horn on high. Don't speak with a stiff neck."Let not your horn be lifted up: let no more words of pride come from your outstretched necks.Lift not up your horn on high; speak not arrogantly with a [stiff] neck.Thou enlightenest wonderfully from the everlasting hills.
Psalms 75:6For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. For honour does not come from the east, or from the west, or uplifting from the south; For not from the east nor from the west, nor yet from the south doth exaltation [come]:All the foolish of heart were troubled. They have slept their sleep; and all the men of riches have found nothing in their hands.
Psalms 75:7But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another. But God is the judge, putting down one, and lifting up another. For God is the judge; he putteth down one and exalteth another. At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, they have all slumbered that mounted on horseback.
Psalms 75:8For in the hand of Yahweh there is a cup, Full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the earth drink and drink it to its very dregs. For in the hand of the Lord is a cup, and the wine is red; it is well mixed, overflowing from his hand: he will make all the sinners of the earth take of it, even to the last drop. For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and it foameth with wine, it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same; yea, the dregs thereof shall all the wicked of the earth drain off, [and] drink.Thou art terrible, and who shall resist thee? from that time thy wrath.
Psalms 75:9But I will declare this forever: I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. But I will ever be full of joy, making songs of praise to the God of Jacob. But as for me, I will declare for ever; I will sing psalms to the God of Jacob.Thou hast caused judgment to be heard from heaven: the earth trembled and was still,
Psalms 75:10I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. Psalm 76 For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm by Asaph. A song.By him will all the horns of the sinners be cut off; but the horns of the upright will be lifted up.And all the horns of the wicked will I cut off; [but] the horns of the righteous shall be exalted. When God arose in judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.
