Psalms 76:1In Judah, God is known. His name is great in Israel.<To the chief music-maker; put to Neginoth. A Psalm. Of Asaph. A Song.>Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of Asaph. In Judah is God known: His name is great in Israel.
Psalms 76:2His tent is also in Salem; His dwelling-place in Zion.In Judah is the knowledge of God; his name is great in Israel,I cried to the Lord with my voice; to God with my voice, and he gave ear to me.In Salem also is his tabernacle, And his dwelling-place in Zion.
Psalms 76:3There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow, The shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah. In Salem is his tent, his resting-place in Zion.In the day of my trouble I sought God, with my hands lifted up to him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be comforted:There he brake the arrows of the bow; The shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah
Psalms 76:4Glorious are you, and excellent, More than mountains of game. There were the arrows of the bow broken, there he put an end to body-cover, sword, and fight. (Selah.)I remembered God, and was delighted, and was exercised, and my spirit swooned away.Glorious art thou [and] excellent, From the mountains of prey.
Psalms 76:5Valiant men lie plundered, They have slept their last sleep. None of the men of war can lift their hands. You are shining and full of glory, more than the eternal mountains. My eyes prevented the watches: I was troubled, and I spoke not.The stouthearted are made a spoil, They have slept their sleep; And none of the men of might have found their hands.
Psalms 76:6At your rebuke, God of Jacob, Both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.Gone is the wealth of the strong, their last sleep has overcome them; the men of war have become feeble.I thought upon the days of old: and I had in my mind the eternal years. At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
Psalms 76:7You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry? At the voice of your wrath, O God of Jacob, deep sleep has overcome carriage and horse. And I meditated in the night with my own heart: and I was exercised and I swept my spirit.Thou, even thou, art to be feared; And who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
Psalms 76:8You pronounced judgment from heaven. The earth feared, and was silent,You, you are to be feared; who may keep his place before you in the time of your wrath? Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; The earth feared, and was still,
Psalms 76:9When God arose to judgment, To save all the afflicted ones of the earth. Selah. From heaven you gave your decision; the earth, in its fear, gave no sound,Or will he cut off his mercy for ever, from generation to generation? When God arose to judgment, To save all the meek of the earth. Selah
Psalms 76:10Surely the wrath of man praises you. The survivors of your wrath are restrained. When God took his place as judge, for the salvation of the poor on the earth. (Selah.)Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: The residue of wrath shalt thou gird upon thee.
Psalms 76:11Make vows to Yahweh your God, and fulfill them! Let all of his neighbors bring presents to him who is to be feared. The ... will give you praise; the rest of ...And I said, Now have I begun: this is the change of the right hand of the most High.Vow, and pay unto Jehovah your God: Let all that are round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
Psalms 76:12He will cut off the spirit of princes. He is feared by the kings of the earth. Psalm 77 For the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm by Asaph.Give to the Lord your God what is his by right; let all who are round him give offerings to him who is to be feared.I remembered the works of the Lord: for I will be mindful of thy wonders from the beginning. He will cut off the spirit of princes: He is terrible to the kings of the earth. Psalm 77 For the Chief Musician; after the manner of Jeduthan. A Psalm of Asaph.
