Psalms 80:1Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock, You who sit above the cherubim, shine forth.<To the chief music-maker; put to Shoshannim-eduth. Of Asaph. A Psalm.> Give ear, O Keeper of Israel, guiding Joseph like a flock; you who have your seat on the winged ones, let your glory be seen.Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for Asaph himself.{To the chief Musician. On Shoshannim-Eduth. Of Asaph. A Psalm.} Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that sittest [between] the cherubim, shine forth.
Psalms 80:2Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might, Come to save us.Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, let your strength be awake from sleep, and come as our salvation.Rejoice to God our helper: sing aloud to the God of Jacob.Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy strength, and come to our deliverance.
Psalms 80:3Turn us again, God. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved.Take us back again, O God; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe.Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel: the pleasant psaltery with the harp.O God, restore us; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
Psalms 80:4Yahweh God of hosts, How long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?O Lord God of armies, how long will your wrath be burning against the rest of your people?Blow up the trumpet on the new moon, on the noted day of your solemnity.Jehovah, God of hosts, how long will thine anger smoke against the prayer of thy people?
Psalms 80:5You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in large measure.You have given them the bread of weeping for food; for their drink you have given them sorrow in great measure.For it is a commandment in Israel, and a judgment to the God of Jacob.Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure:
Psalms 80:6You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.You make us a cause of war among our neighbours; our haters are laughing at us among themselves.He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not.Thou hast made us a strife unto our neighbours, and our enemies mock among themselves.
Psalms 80:7Turn us again, God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, And we will be saved.Take us back again, O God of armies; let us see the shining of your face, and let us be safe.He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets.Restore us, O God of hosts; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
Psalms 80:8You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it.You took a vine out of Egypt: driving out the nations, and planting it in their land.Thou calledst upon me in affliction, and I delivered thee: I heard thee in the secret place of tempest: I proved thee at the waters of contradiction.Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt; thou didst cast out the nations, and plant it:
Psalms 80:9You cleared the ground for it. It took deep root, and filled the land.You made ready a place for it, so that it might take deep root, and it sent out its branches over all the land.Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me,Thou preparedst space before it, and it took deep root, and filled the land;
Psalms 80:10The mountains were covered with its shadow. Its boughs were like God's cedars.The mountains were covered with its shade, and the great trees with its branches.there shall be no new god in thee: neither shalt thou adore a strange god.The mountains were covered with its shadow, and the branches thereof were [like] cedars of ùGod;
Psalms 80:11It sent out its branches to the sea, Its shoots to the River.It sent out its arms to the Sea, and its branches to the River.For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.It sent out its boughs unto the sea, and its shoots unto the river.
Psalms 80:12Why have you broken down its walls, So that all those who pass by the way pluck it?Why are its walls broken down by your hands, so that all who go by may take its fruit?But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me.Why hast thou broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way do pluck it?
Psalms 80:13The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.It is uprooted by the pigs from the woods, the beasts of the field get their food from it.So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions.The boar out of the forest doth waste it, and the beast of the field doth feed off it.
Psalms 80:14Turn again, we beg you, God of hosts. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,Come back, O God of armies: from heaven let your eyes be turned to this vine, and give your mind to it,If my people had heard me: if Israel had walked in my ways:O God of hosts, return, we beseech thee; look down from the heavens, and behold, and visit this vine;
Psalms 80:15The stock which your right hand planted, The branch that you made strong for yourself.Even to the tree which was planted by your right hand, and to the branch which you made strong for yourself.I should soon have humbled their enemies, and laid my hand on them that troubled them.Even the stock which thy right hand hath planted, and the young plant thou madest strong for thyself.
Psalms 80:16It is burned with fire. It is cut down. They perish at your rebuke.It is burned with fire; it is cut down: they are made waste by the wrath of your face.The enemies of the Lord have lied to him: and their time shall be for ever.It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
Psalms 80:17Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, On the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and filled them with honey out of the rock.Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself.
Psalms 80:18So we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call on your name.So will we not be turned back from you; keep us in life, and we will give praise to your name.So will we not go back from thee. Revive us, and we will call upon thy name.
Psalms 80:19Turn us again, Yahweh God of hosts. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved. Psalm 81 For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath.
