Psalms 82:1God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods.<A Psalm. Of Asaph.> God is in the meeting-place of God; he is judging among the gods.A canticle of a psalm for Asaph.God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
Psalms 82:2"How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked?" Selah.How long will you go on judging falsely, having respect for the persons of evil-doers? (Selah.)O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
Psalms 82:3"Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights.For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Psalms 82:4Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."Be the saviour of the poor and those who have nothing: take them out of the hand of the evil-doers.They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
Psalms 82:5They don't know, neither do they understand. They walk back and forth in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.They have no knowledge or sense; they go about in the dark: all the bases of the earth are moved.They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
Psalms 82:6I said, "You are gods, All of you are sons of the Most High.I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High:For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
Psalms 82:7Nevertheless you shall die like men, And fall like one of the rulers."But you will come to death like men, falling like one of the rulers of the earth.the tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Psalms 82:8Arise, God, judge the earth, For you inherit all of the nations. Psalm 83 A song. A Psalm by Asaph.Up! O God, come as judge of the earth; for all the nations are your heritage.Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
