| Psalms 17:1 | Hear, Yahweh, my righteous plea; Give ear to my prayer, that doesn't go out of deceitful lips. | <A Prayer. Of David.> Let my cause come to your ears, O Lord, give attention to my cry; give ear to my prayer which goes not out from false lips. | A Prayer of David. Hear, O Jehovah, righteousness, attend my cry, Give ear [to] my prayer, without lips of deceit. | A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend to my cry, give ear to my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips. |
| Psalms 17:2 | Let my sentence come forth from your presence; Let your eyes look on equity. | Be my judge; for your eyes see what is right. | From before thee my judgment doth go out; Thine eyes do see uprightly. | Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thy eyes behold the things that are equal. |
| Psalms 17:3 | You have proved my heart; you have visited me in the night; You have tried me, and found nothing; I have resolved that my mouth shall not disobey. | You have put my heart to the test, searching me in the night; you have put me to the test and seen no evil purpose in me; I will keep my mouth from sin. | Thou hast proved my heart, Thou hast inspected by night, Thou hast tried me, Thou findest nothing; My thoughts pass not over my mouth. | Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. |
| Psalms 17:4 | As for the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent. | As for the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent. | As to doings of man, Through a word of Thy lips I have observed The paths of a destroyer; | Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. |
| Psalms 17:5 | My steps have held fast to your paths, My feet have not slipped. | I have kept my feet in your ways, my steps have not been turned away. | To uphold my goings in Thy paths, My steps have not slidden. | Uphold my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. |
| Psalms 17:6 | I have called on you, for you will answer me, God: Turn your ear to me. Hear my speech. | My cry has gone up to you, for you will give me an answer, O God: let your ear be turned to me, and give attention to my words. | I I called Thee, for Thou dost answer me, O God, incline Thine ear to me, hear my speech. | I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thy ear to me, and hear my speech. |
| Psalms 17:7 | Show your marvelous lovingkindness, You who save those who take refuge by your right hand from their enemies. | Make clear the wonder of your mercy, O saviour of those who put their faith in your right hand, from those who come out against them. | Separate wonderfully Thy kindness, O Saviour of the confiding, By Thy right hand, from withstanders. | Show thy wonderful loving-kindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them who put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. |
| Psalms 17:8 | Keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me under the shadow of your wings, | Keep me as the light of your eyes, covering me with the shade of your wings, | Keep me as the apple, the daughter of the eye; In shadow of Thy wings thou dost hide me. | Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shade of thy wings. |
| Psalms 17:9 | From the wicked who oppress me, My deadly enemies, who compass me about. | From the evil-doers who are violent to me, and from those who are round me, desiring my death. | From the face of the wicked who spoiled me. Mine enemies in soul go round against me. | From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who encompass me, |
| Psalms 17:10 | They close up their callous hearts. With their mouth they speak proudly. | They are shut up in their fat: with their mouths they say words of pride. | Their fat they have closed up, Their mouths have spoken with pride: | They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly. |
| Psalms 17:11 | They have now surrounded us in our steps. They set their eyes to cast us down to the earth. | They have made a circle round our steps: their eyes are fixed on us, forcing us down to the earth; | `Our steps now have compassed [him];` Their eyes they set to turn aside in the land. | They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth; |
| Psalms 17:12 | He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, As it were a young lion lurking in secret places. | Like a lion desiring its food, and like a young lion waiting in secret places. | His likeness as a lion desirous to tear, As a young lion dwelling in secret places. | Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. |
| Psalms 17:13 | Arise, Yahweh, Confront him, cast him down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword; | Up! Lord, come out against him, make him low, with your sword be my saviour from the evil-doer. | Arise, O Jehovah, go before his face, Cause him to bend. Deliver my soul from the wicked, Thy sword, | Arise, O LORD disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, who is thy sword: |
| Psalms 17:14 | From men by your hand, Yahweh, From men of the world, whose portion is in this life, Whose belly you fill with your treasure: They are satisfied with children, Leave the rest of their substance to their babes. | With your hand, O Lord, from men, even men of the world, whose heritage is in this life, and whom you make full with your secret wealth: they are full of children; after their death their offspring take the rest of their goods. | From men, Thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, their portion [is] in life, And [with] Thy hidden things Thou fillest their belly, They are satisfied [with] sons; And have left their abundance to their sucklings. | From men who are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, who have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. |
| Psalms 17:15 | As for me, I shall see your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with seeing your form. Psalm 18 For the Chief Musician. By David, the servant of Yahweh, who spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. He said, | As for me, I will see your face in righteousness: when I am awake it will be joy enough for me to see your form. | I in righteousness, I see Thy face; I am satisfied, in awaking, [with] Thy form! | As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. |
