Psalms 83:1God, don't keep silent. Don't keep silent, and don't be still, God.<A Song. A Psalm. Of Asaph.> O God, do not keep quiet: let your lips be open and take no rest, O God.
Psalms 83:2For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.For see! those who make war on you are out of control; your haters are lifting up their heads.
Psalms 83:3They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.They have made wise designs against your people, talking together against those whom you keep in a secret place.
Psalms 83:4"Come," they say, "and let us destroy them as a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more."They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory.
Psalms 83:5For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you.For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you:
Psalms 83:6The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites;
Psalms 83:7Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre;
Psalms 83:8Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.Assur is joined with them; they have become the support of the children of Lot. (Selah.)
Psalms 83:9Do to them as you did to Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;Do to them what you did to the Midianites; what you did to Sisera and Jabin, at the stream of Kishon:
Psalms 83:10Who perished at Endor, Who became as dung for the earth.Who came to destruction at En-dor; their bodies became dust and waste.
Psalms 83:11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;Make their chiefs like Oreb and Zeeb; and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna:
Psalms 83:12Who said, "Let us take possession Of God's pasturelands."Who have said, Let us take for our heritage the resting-place of God.
Psalms 83:13My God, make them like tumbleweed; Like chaff before the wind.O my God, make them like the rolling dust; like dry stems before the wind.
Psalms 83:14As the fire that burns the forest, As the flame that sets the mountains on fire,As fire burning a wood, and as a flame causing fire on the mountains,
Psalms 83:15So pursue them with your tempest, Terrify them with your storm.So go after them with your strong wind, and let them be full of fear because of your storm.
Psalms 83:16Fill their faces with confusion, That they may seek your name, Yahweh.Let their faces be full of shame; so that they may give honour to your name, O Lord.
Psalms 83:17Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish;Let them be overcome and troubled for ever; let them be put to shame and come to destruction;
Psalms 83:18That they may know that you alone, whose name is Yahweh, Are the Most High over all the earth. Psalm 84 For the Chief Musician. On an instrument of Gath. A Psalm by the sons of Korah.So that men may see that you only, whose name is Yahweh, are Most High over all the earth.
