| Psalms 42:1 | As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul after you, God. | {To the chief Musician. An instruction; of the sons of Korah.} As the hart panteth after the water-brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. | <To the chief music-maker. Maschil. Of the sons of Korah.> Like the desire of the roe for the water-streams, so is my soul's desire for you, O God. | A psalm for David. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy : deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man. |

When shall I come and appear before God? | My soul thirsteth for God, for the living ùGod: when shall I come and appear before God? | My soul is dry for need of God, the living God; when may I come and see the face of God? | For thou art God my strength : why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me? |
