Psalms 68:1Let God arise! Let his enemies be scattered! Let them who hate him also flee before him.{To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm: a Song.} Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered, and let them that hate him flee before him.<To the chief music-maker. Of David. A Psalm. A Song.> Let God be seen, and let his haters be put to flight; let those who are against him be turned back before him.Unto the end, for them that shall be changed; for David.
Psalms 68:2As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.As smoke is driven, thou wilt drive them away; as wax melteth before the fire, the wicked shall perish at the presence of God.Let them be like smoke before the driving wind; as wax turning soft before the fire, so let them come to an end before the power of God.SAVE me, O God: for the waters are come in even unto my soul.
Psalms 68:3But let the righteous be glad. Let them rejoice before God. Yes, let them rejoice with gladness. But the righteous shall rejoice: they shall exult before God and be glad with joy.But let the upright be glad; let them have delight before God; let them be full of joy.I stick fast in the mire of the deep: and there is no sure standing. I am come into the depth of the sea: and a tempest hath overwhelmed me.
Psalms 68:4Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Extol him who rides on the clouds To Yah, his name! Rejoice before him.Sing unto God, sing forth his name; cast up a way for him that rideth in the deserts: his name is Jah; and rejoice before him.Make songs to God, make songs of praise to his name; make a way for him who comes through the waste lands; his name is Jah; be glad before him.I have laboured with crying; my jaws are become hoarse: my eyes have failed, whilst I hope in my God.
Psalms 68:5A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, Is God in his holy habitation.A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.A father to those who have no father, a judge of the widows, is God in his holy place. They are multiplied above the hairs of my head, who hate me without cause. My enemies are grown strong who have wrongfully persecuted me: then did I pay that which I took not away.
Psalms 68:6God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, But the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.God maketh the solitary into families; those that were bound he bringeth out into prosperity: but the rebellious dwell in a parched [land].Those who are without friends, God puts in families; he makes free those who are in chains; but those who are turned away from him are given a dry land.O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my offences are not hidden from thee:
Psalms 68:7God, when you went forth before your people, When you marched through the wilderness... Selah.O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness (Selah)O God, when you went out before your people, wandering through the waste land; (Selah.)Let not them be ashamed for me, who look for thee, O Lord, the Lord of hosts. Let them not be confounded on my account, who seek thee, O God of Israel.
Psalms 68:8The earth trembled. The sky also poured down rain at the presence of the God of Sinai At the presence of God, the God of Israel. The earth trembled, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God, yon Sinai, at the presence of God, the God of Israel. The earth was shaking and the heavens were streaming, because God was present; even Sinai itself was moved before God, the God of Israel.Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
Psalms 68:9You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance, when it was weary.Thou, O God, didst pour a plentiful rain upon thine inheritance, and when it was weary thou strengthenedst it.You, O God, did freely send the rain, giving strength to the weariness of your heritage.I am become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to the sons of my mother.
Psalms 68:10Your congregation lived therein. You, God, prepared your goodness for the poor.Thy flock hath dwelt therein: thou hast prepared in thy goodness, for the afflicted, O God!Those whose resting-place was there, even the poor, were comforted by your good things, O God.For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up: and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
Psalms 68:11The Lord announced the word. The ones who proclaim it are a great company. The Lord gives the word: great the host of the publishers. The Lord gives the word; great is the number of the women who make it public. And I covered my soul in fasting: and it was made a reproach to me.
Psalms 68:12"Kings of armies flee! They flee!" She who waits at home divides the spoil,Kings of armies flee; they flee, and she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.Kings of armies quickly go in flight: and the women in the houses make a division of their goods. And I made haircloth my garment: and I became a byword to them.
Psalms 68:13While you sleep among the campfires, The wings of a dove sheathed with silver, Her feathers with shining gold.Though ye have lain among the sheepfolds, [ye shall be as] wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with green gold. Will you take your rest among the flocks? like the wings of a dove covered with silver, and its feathers with yellow gold. They that sat in the gate spoke against me: and they that drank wine made me their song.
Psalms 68:14When the Almighty scattered kings in her, It snowed on Zalmon. When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it became snow-white as Zalmon. When the Most High put the kings to flight, it was as white as snow in Salmon. But as for me, my prayer is to thee, O Lord; for the time of thy good pleasure, O God. In the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
Psalms 68:15The mountains of Bashan are majestic mountains. The mountains of Bashan are rugged.[As] mount Bashan is the mount of God, a many-peaked mountain, [as] mount Bashan.A hill of God is the hill of Bashan; a hill with high tops is the hill of Bashan.Draw me out of the mire, that I may not stick fast: deliver me from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
Psalms 68:16Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains, At the mountain where God chooses to reign? Yes, Yahweh will dwell there forever. Why do ye look with envy, ye many-peaked mountains, upon the mount that God hath desired for his abode? yea, Jehovah will dwell [there] for ever. Why are you looking with envy, you high hills, on the hill desired by God as his resting-place? truly, God will make it his house for ever.Let not the tempest of water drown me, nor the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
Psalms 68:17The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands. The Lord is among them, from Sinai, into the sanctuary. The chariots of God are twenty thousand, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them: it is a Sinai in holiness. The war-carriage of God is among Israel's thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai to the holy place.Hear me, O Lord, for thy mercy is kind; look upon me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
Psalms 68:18You have ascended on high. You have led away captives. You have received gifts among men, Yes, among the rebellious also, that Yah God might dwell there.Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts in Man, and even [for] the rebellious, for the dwelling [there] of Jah Elohim. You have gone up on high, taking your prisoners with you; you have taken offerings from men; the Lord God has taken his place on the seat of his power. And turn not away thy face from thy servant: for I am in trouble, hear me speedily.
Psalms 68:19Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens, Even the God who is our salvation. Selah.Blessed be the Lord: day by day doth he load us [with good], the ùGod who is our salvation. To Yahweh, the Lord, belongs escape from death. Our ùGod is the ùGod of salvation; and with Jehovah, the Lord, are the goings forth [even] from death. Our God is for us a God of salvation; his are the ways out of death.Thou knowest my reproach, and my confusion, and my shame.
Psalms 68:21But God will strike through the head of his enemies, The hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.Verily God will smite the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of him that goeth on still in his trespasses. The heads of the haters of God will be crushed; even the head of him who still goes on in his evil ways.In thy sight are all they that afflict me; my heart hath expected reproach and misery. And I looked for one that would grieve together with me, but there was none: and for one that would comfort me, and I found none.
Psalms 68:22The Lord said, "I will bring you again from Bashan, I will bring you again from the depths of the sea;The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring [them] again from the depth of the sea;The Lord said, I will make them come back from Bashan, and from the deep parts of the sea;And they gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Psalms 68:23That you may crush them, dipping your foot in blood, That the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies."That thou mayest dip thy foot in blood: the tongue of thy dogs has its portion from enemies. So that your foot may be red with blood, and the tongues of your dogs with the same.Let their table become as a snare before them, and a recompense, and a stumblingblock.
Psalms 68:24They have seen your goings, God, Even the goings of my God, my King, into the sanctuary. They have seen thy goings, O God, the goings of my ùGod, my King, in the sanctuary. We see your going, O God: even the going of my God, my King, into the holy place.Let their eyes be darkened that they see not; and their back bend thou down always.
Psalms 68:25The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, In the midst of the ladies playing with tambourines,The singers went before, the players on stringed instruments after, in the midst of maidens playing on tabrets. The makers of songs go before, the players of music come after, among the young girls playing on brass instruments.Pour out thy indignation upon them: and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
Psalms 68:26"Bless God in the congregations, Even the Lord in the assembly of Israel!"In the congregations bless ye God, the Lord, [ye] from the fountain of Israel.Give praise to God in the great meeting; even the Lord, you who come from the fountain of Israel.Let their habitation be made desolate: and let there be none to dwell in their tabernacles.
Psalms 68:27There is little Benjamin, their ruler, The princes of Judah, their council, The princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali. There is little Benjamin, their ruler; the princes of Judah, their company; the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali. There is little Benjamin ruling them, the chiefs of Judah and their army, the rulers of Zebulun and the rulers of Naphtali.Because they have persecuted him whom thou hast smitten; and they have added to the grief of my wounds.
Psalms 68:28Your God has commanded your strength. Strengthen, God, that which you have done for us.Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.O God, send out your strength; the strength, O God, with which you have done great things for us,Add thou iniquity upon their iniquity: and let them not come into thy justice.

Scatter the nations that delight in war.Rebuke the beast of the reeds, the assembly of the strong, with the calves of the peoples: [every one] submitteth himself with pieces of silver. Scatter the peoples that delight in war.Say sharp words to the beast among the water-plants, the band of strong ones, with the lords of the peoples, put an end to the people whose delight is in war.But I am poor and sorrowful: thy salvation, O God, hath set me up.
