Job 14:3Do you open your eyes on such a one, And bring me into judgment with you?Yet dost thou open thine eyes upon such a one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?Is it on such a one as this that your eyes are fixed, with the purpose of judging him?And dost thou open thy eyes upon such one, and bring me into judgment with thee?
Job 14:4Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.Who can bring a clean [man] out of the unclean? Not one!If only a clean thing might come out of an unclean! But it is not possible.Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
Job 14:5Seeing his days are determined, The number of his months is with you, And you have appointed his bounds that he can't pass;If his days are determined, if the number of his months is with thee, [and] thou hast appointed his bounds which he must not pass,If his days are ordered, and you have knowledge of the number of his months, having given him a fixed limit past which he may not go;Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months is with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
Job 14:6Look away from him, that he may rest, Until he shall accomplish, as a hireling, his day.Look away from him; and let him rest, till he accomplish, as a hireling, his day.Let your eyes be turned away from him, and take your hand from him, so that he may have pleasure at the end of his day, like a servant working for payment.Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as a hireling, his day.
Job 14:7"For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, That the tender branch of it will not cease.For there is hope for a tree: if it be cut down, it will sprout again, and its tender branch will not cease;For there is hope of a tree; if it is cut down, it will come to life again, and its branches will not come to an end.For there is hope of a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender branch will not cease.
Job 14:8Though the root of it grows old in the earth, And the stock of it dies in the ground;Though its root grow old in the earth, and its stock die in the ground,Though its root may be old in the earth, and its cut-off end may be dead in the dust;Though its root shall become old in the earth, and its stock die in the ground;
Job 14:9Yet through the scent of water it will bud, And put forth boughs like a plant.Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and put forth boughs like a young plant.Still, at the smell of water, it will make buds, and put out branches like a young plant.Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
Job 14:10But man dies, and is laid low. Yes, man gives up the spirit, and where is he?But a man dieth, and is prostrate; yea, man expireth, and where is he?But man comes to his death and is gone: he gives up his spirit, and where is he?But man dieth, and wasteth away: yes, man yieldeth his breath, and where is he?
Job 14:11As the waters fail from the sea, And the river wastes and dries up,The waters recede from the lake, and the river wasteth and drieth up:The waters go from a pool, and a river becomes waste and dry;As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
Job 14:12So man lies down and doesn't rise; Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, Nor be roused out of their sleep.So man lieth down, and riseth not again; till the heavens be no more, they do not awake, nor are raised out of their sleep.So man goes down to his last resting-place and comes not again: till the heavens come to an end, they will not be awake or come out of their sleep.So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens shall be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
Job 14:13"Oh that you would hide me in Sheol, That you would keep me secret, until your wrath is past, That you would appoint me a set time, and remember me!Oh that thou wouldest hide me in Sheol, that thou wouldest keep me secret until thine anger be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me,If only you would keep me safe in the underworld, putting me in a secret place till your wrath is past, giving me a fixed time when I might come to your memory again!O that thou wouldst hide me in the grave, that thou wouldst keep me secret, until thy wrath is past, that thou wouldst appoint me a set time, and remember me!
Job 14:14If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my warfare would I wait, Until my release should come.(If a man die, shall he live [again]?) all the days of my time of toil would I wait, till my change should come:If death takes a man, will he come to life again? All the days of my trouble I would be waiting, till the time came for me to be free.If a man dieth, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change shall come.
Job 14:15You would call, and I would answer you. You would have a desire to the work of your hands.Thou wouldest call, and I would answer thee; thou wouldest have a desire after the work of thy hands.At the sound of your voice I would give an answer, and you would have a desire for the work of your hands.Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thy hands.
Job 14:16But now you number my steps. Don't you watch over my sin?For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?For now my steps are numbered by you, and my sin is not overlooked.For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
Job 14:17My disobedience is sealed up in a bag. You fasten up my iniquity.My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou heapest up mine iniquity.My wrongdoing is corded up in a bag, and my sin is shut up safe.My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up my iniquity.
Job 14:18"But the mountain falling comes to nothing; The rock is removed out of its place;And indeed a mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of its place;But truly a mountain falling comes to dust, and a rock is moved from its place;And surely the mountain falling cometh to naught, and the rock is removed out of its place.
Job 14:19The waters wear the stones; The torrents of it wash away the dust of the earth: So you destroy the hope of man.The waters wear the stones, the floods thereof wash away the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.The stones are crushed small by the force of the waters; the dust of the earth is washed away by their overflowing: and so you put an end to the hope of man.The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
Job 14:20You forever prevail against him, and he passes; You change his face, and send him away.Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth away; thou changest his countenance, and dismissest him.You overcome him for ever, and he is gone; his face is changed in death, and you send him away.Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
