| Proverbs 4:1 | Listen, sons, to a father's instruction. Pay attention and know understanding; | Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know intelligence; | Give ear, my sons, to the teaching of a father; give attention so that you may have knowledge: | Hear, ye sons, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding. |
| Proverbs 4:2 | For I give you sound learning. Don't forsake my law. | for I give you good doctrine: forsake ye not my law. | For I give you good teaching; do not give up the knowledge you are getting from me. | For good learning I have given to you, My law forsake not. |
