| 2nd-Corinthians 9:1 | It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints, | For concerning the ministration which [is] for the saints, it is superfluous my writing to you. | For concerning the ministry that is done towards the saints, it is superfluous for me to write unto you. | But there is no need for me to say anything in my letter about the giving to the saints: |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:2 | for I know your readiness, of which I boast on your behalf to them of Macedonia, that Achaia has been prepared for a year past. Your zeal has stirred up very many of them. | For I know your readiness, which I boast of as respects you to Macedonians, that Achaia is prepared since a year ago, and the zeal [reported] of you has stimulated the mass [of the brethren]. | For I know your forward mind: for which I boast of you to the Macedonians. That Achaia also is ready from the year past, and your emulation hath provoked very many. | For I have before made clear to those of Macedonia my pride in your ready mind, saying to them that Achaia has been ready for a year back; and a great number have been moved to do the same by your example. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:3 | But I have sent the brothers, that our glorying on your behalf may not be made void in this respect, that, even as I said, you may be prepared, | But I have sent the brethren, in order that our boasting about you may not be made void in this respect, in order that, as I have said, ye may be prepared; | Now I have sent the brethren, that the thing which we boast of concerning you, be not made void in this behalf, that (as I have said) you may be ready: | But I have sent the brothers, so that the good things we said about you may be seen to be true, and that, as I said, you may be ready: |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:4 | so that I won't by any means, if there come with me any of Macedonia and find you unprepared, we (to say nothing of you) should be put to shame in this confident boasting. | lest haply, if Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, *we*, that we say not *ye*, may be put to shame in this confidence. | Lest, when the Macedonians shall come with me, and find you unprepared, we (not to say ye) should be ashamed in this matter. | For fear that, if any from Macedonia come with me, and you are not ready, we (not to say, you) might be put to shame in this thing. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:5 | I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you, and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness. | I thought it necessary therefore to beg the brethren that they would come to you, and complete beforehand your fore-announced blessing, that this may be ready thus as blessing, and not as got out of you. | Therefore I thought it necessary to desire the brethren that they would go to you before, and prepare this blessing before promised, to be ready, so as a blessing, not as covetousness. | So it seemed to me wise for the brothers to go before, and see that the amount which you had undertaken to give was ready, so that it might be a cause for praise, and not as if we were making profit out of you. |

He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. | But this [is true], he that sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that sows in [the spirit of] blessing shall reap also in blessing: | Now this I say: He who soweth sparingly, shall also reap sparingly: and he who soweth in blessings, shall also reap blessings. | But in the Writings it says, He who puts in only a small number of seeds, will get in the same; and he who puts them in from a full hand, will have produce in full measure from them. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:7 | Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. | each according as he is purposed in his heart; not grievingly, or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. | Every one as he hath determined in his heart, not with sadness, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. | Let every man do after the purpose of his heart; not giving with grief, or by force: for God takes pleasure in a ready giver. |

| 2nd-Corinthians 9:9 | As it is written, "He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever." | according as it is written, He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor, his righteousness remains for ever. | As it is written: He hath dispersed abroad, he hath given to the poor: his justice remaineth for ever. | As it is said in the Writings, He has sent out far and wide, he has given to the poor; his righteousness is for ever. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:10 | Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; | Now he that supplies seed to the sower and bread for eating shall supply and make abundant your sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness: | And he that ministereth seed to the sower, will both give you bread to eat, and will multiply your seed, and increase the growth of the fruits of your justice: | And he who gives seed for putting into the field and bread for food, will take care of the growth of your seed, at the same time increasing the fruits of your righteousness; |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:11 | you being enriched in everything to all liberality, which works through us thanksgiving to God. | enriched in every way unto all free-hearted liberality, which works through us thanksgiving to God. | That being enriched in all things, you may abound unto all simplicity, which worketh through us thanksgiving to God. | Your wealth being increased in everything, with a simple mind, causing praise to God through us. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:12 | For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through many givings of thanks to God; | Because the ministration of this service is not only filling up the measure of what is lacking to the saints, but also abounding by many thanksgivings to God; | Because the administration of this office doth not only supply the want of the saints, but aboundeth also by many thanksgivings in the Lord, | For this work of giving not only takes care of the needs of the saints, but is the cause of much praise to God; |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:13 | seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all; | they glorifying God through the proof of this ministration, by reason of your subjection, by profession, to the glad tidings of the Christ, and your free-hearted liberality in communicating towards them and towards all; | By the proof of this ministry, glorifying God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ, and for the simplicity of your communicating unto them, and unto all. | For when, through this work of giving, they see what you are, they give glory to God for the way in which you have given yourselves to the good news of Christ, and for the wealth of your giving to them and to all; |
| 2nd-Corinthians 9:14 | while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you. | and in their supplication for you, full of ardent desire for you, on account of the exceeding grace of God [which is] upon you. | And in their praying for you, being desirous of you, because of the excellent grace of God in you. | While their hearts go out to you in love and in prayer for you, because of the great grace of God which is in you. |
