Job 5:1"Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?Call, I pray thee! Is there any that answereth thee? and to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?Call now if there be any that will answer thee, and turn to some of the saints.Give now a cry for help; is there anyone who will give you an answer? and to which of the holy ones will you make your prayer?
Job 5:2For resentment kills the foolish man, And jealousy kills the simple.For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple.Anger indeed killeth the foolish, and envy slayeth the little one.For wrath is the cause of death to the foolish, and he who has no wisdom comes to his end through passion.
Job 5:3I have seen the foolish taking root, But suddenly I cursed his habitation.I myself saw the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I cursed his beauty immediately.I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly the curse came on his house.
Job 5:4His children are far from safety, They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is no deliverer:His children shall be far from safety, and shall be destroyed in the gate, and there shall be none to deliver them.Now his children have no safe place, and they are crushed before the judges, for no one takes up their cause.
Job 5:5Whose harvest the hungry eats up, Takes it even out of the thorns; The snare gapes for their substance.Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh even out of the thorns; and the snare gapeth for his substance.Whose harvest the hungry shall eat, and the armed man shall take him by violence, and the thirsty shall drink up his riches.Their produce is taken by him who has no food, and their grain goes to the poor, and he who is in need of water gets it from their spring.
Job 5:6For affliction doesn't come forth from the dust, Neither does trouble spring out of the ground;For evil cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;Nothing upon earth is done without a voice cause, and sorrow doth not spring out of the ground.For evil does not come out of the dust, or trouble out of the earth;
Job 5:7But man is born to trouble, As the sparks fly upward.For man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upwards.Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.But trouble is man's fate from birth, as the flames go up from the fire.
Job 5:8"But as for me, I would seek God, To God would I commit my cause;But as for me I will seek unto ùGod, and unto God commit my cause;Wherefore I will pray to the Lord, and address my speech to God:But as for me, I would make my prayer to God, and I would put my cause before him:
Job 5:9Who does great things that can't be fathomed, Marvelous things without number;Who doeth great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number;Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:Who does great things outside our knowledge, wonders without number:
Job 5:10Who gives rain on the earth, And sends waters on the fields;Who giveth rain on the face of the earth, and sendeth waters on the face of the fields;Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters:Who gives rain on the earth, and sends water on the fields:
Job 5:11So that he sets up on high those who are low, Those who mourn are exalted to safety.Setting up on high those that are low; and mourners are exalted to prosperity.Who setteth up the humble on high, and comforteth with health those that mourn.Lifting up those who are low, and putting the sad in a safe place;
Job 5:12He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can't perform their enterprise.He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, and their hands carry not out the enterprise.Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun:Who makes the designs of the wise go wrong, so that they are unable to give effect to their purposes.
Job 5:13He takes the wise in their own craftiness; The counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong:Who catcheth the wise in their craftiness, and disappointeth the counsel of the wicked:He takes the wise in their secret designs, and the purposes of the twisted are cut off suddenly.
Job 5:14They meet with darkness in the day-time, And grope at noonday as in the night.They meet with darkness in a the daytime, and grope at midday as in the night.They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night.In the daytime it becomes dark for them, and in the sunlight they go feeling about as if it was night.
Job 5:15But he saves from the sword of their mouth, Even the needy from the hand of the mighty.And he saveth the needy from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.But he keeps safe from their sword those who have no father, and the poor from the power of the strong.
Job 5:16So the poor has hope, And injustice shuts her mouth.So the poor hath what he hopeth for, and unrighteousness stoppeth her mouth.And to the needy there shall he hope, but iniquity shall draw in her mouth.So the poor man has hope, and the mouth of the evil-doer is stopped.
Job 5:17"Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects: Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.Behold, happy is the man whom +God correcteth; therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.Blessed is the mall whom God correcteth: refuse not therefore the chastising of the lord:Truly, that man is happy who has training from the hand of God: so do not let your heart be shut to the teaching of the Ruler of all.
Job 5:18For he wounds, and binds up; He injures, and his hands make whole.For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth, and his hands make whole.For he woundeth, and cureth: he striketh, and his hands shall heal.For after his punishment he gives comfort, and after wounding, his hands make you well.
Job 5:19He will deliver you in six troubles; Yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you.He will deliver thee in six troubles, and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.In six troubles he shall deliver thee, and in the seventh, evil shall not touch thee.He will keep you safe from six troubles, and in seven no evil will come near you.
Job 5:20In famine he will redeem you from death; In war, from the power of the sword.In famine he will redeem thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword.In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in battle, from the hand of the sword.When there is need of food he will keep you from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
Job 5:21You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, Neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh.He will keep you safe from the evil tongue; and you will have no fear of wasting when it comes.
Job 5:22At destruction and dearth you shall laugh, Neither shall you be afraid of the animals of the earth.At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, and of the beasts of the earth thou shalt not be afraid.In destruction and famine then shalt laugh: and thou shalt not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.You will make sport of destruction and need, and will have no fear of the beasts of the earth.
Job 5:23For you shall be in league with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you.For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.But thou shalt have a covenant with the stones of the lands, and the beasts of the earth shall be at pence with thee.For you will be in agreement with the stones of the earth, and the beasts of the field will be at peace with you.
Job 5:24You shall know that your tent is in peace. You shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing.And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; and thou wilt survey thy fold, and miss nothing.And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.And you will be certain that your tent is at peace, and after looking over your property you will see that nothing is gone.
Job 5:25You shall know also that your seed shall be great, Your offspring as the grass of the earth.And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thine offspring as the herb of the earth.Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be multiplied, and thy offspring like the grass of the earth.You will be certain that your seed will be great, and your offspring like the plants of the earth.
Job 5:26You shall come to your grave in a full age, Like a shock of grain comes in its season.Thou shalt come to the grave in a ripe age, as a shock of corn is brought in in its season.Thou shalt enter into the grave in abundance, as a heap of wheat is brought in its season.You will come to your last resting-place in full strength, as the grain is taken up to the crushing-floor in its time.
Job 5:27Look this, we have searched it, so it is; Hear it, and know it for your good."Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thyself.Behold, this is even so, as we have searched oat: which thou having heard, consider it thoroughly in thy mind.See, we have made search with care, and it is so; it has come to our ears; see that you take note of it for yourself.
