Psalms 41:1Blessed is he who considers the poor: Yahweh will deliver him in the day of evil.{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Blessed is he that understandeth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.Unto the end, understanding for the sons of Core.<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> Happy is the man who gives thought to the poor; the Lord will be his saviour in the time of trouble.
Psalms 41:2Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive, He shall be blessed on the earth, And he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive; he shall be made happy in the land; and thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies. As the hart panteth after the fountains of water; so my soul panteth after thee, O God.The Lord will keep him safe, and give him life; the Lord will let him be a blessing on the earth, and will not give him into the hand of his haters.
Psalms 41:3Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, And restore him from his bed of illness.Jehovah will sustain him upon the bed of languishing: thou turnest all his bed in his sickness. My soul hath thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God?The Lord will be his support on his bed of pain: by you will all his grief be turned to strength.
Psalms 41:4I said, " Yahweh, have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you."As for me, I said, Jehovah, be gracious unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.My tears have been any bread day and night, whilst it is said to me daily : Where is thy God?I said, Lord, have mercy on me; make my soul well, because my faith is in you.
Psalms 41:5My enemies speak evil against me: "When will he die, and his name perish?"Mine enemies wish me evil: When will he die, and his name perish? These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me : for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God : With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting. My haters say evil against me, When will he be dead, and his name come to an end?
Psalms 41:6If he come to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.And if one come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth wickedness to itself: he goeth abroad, he telleth [it].Why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance,If one comes to see me, deceit is in his heart; he keeps a store of evil, which he makes public in every place.
Psalms 41:7All who hate me whisper together against me. They imagine the worst for me.All that hate me whisper together against me; against me do they devise my hurt.and my God. My soul is troubled within myself : therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan and Hermoniim, from the little hill. All my haters are talking secretly together against me; they are designing my downfall.
Psalms 41:8"An evil disease," they say, "has afflicted him. Now that he lies he shall rise up no more."A thing of Belial cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he is laid down, he will rise up no more.Deep calleth on deep, at the noise of thy flood-gates. All thy heights and thy billows have passed over me.They say, He has an evil disease, which will not let him go: and now that he is down he will not get up again.
Psalms 41:9Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who ate bread with me, Has lifted up his heel against me.Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I confided, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.In the daytime the Lord hath commanded his mercy; and a canticle to him in the night. With me is prayer to the God of my life.Even my dearest friend, in whom I had faith, who took bread with me, is turned against me.
Psalms 41:10But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me, and raise me up, That I may repay them. But thou, Jehovah, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.I will say to God : Thou art my support. Why hast thou forgotten me? and why go I mourning, whilst my enemy afflicteth me?But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, lifting me up, so that I may give them their punishment.
Psalms 41:11By this I know that you delight in me, Because my enemy doesn't triumph over me.By this I know that thou delightest in me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.Whilst my bones are broken, my enemies who trouble me have reproached me; Whilst they say to me day be day : Where is thy God?By this I see that you have pleasure in me, because my hater does not overcome me.
Psalms 41:12As for me, you uphold me in my integrity, And set me in your presence forever. But as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me? Hope thou in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance, and my God.And as for me, you are my support in my righteousness, giving me a place before your face for ever.
Psalms 41:13Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, From everlasting and to everlasting! Amen and amen. BOOK II Psalm 42 For the Chief Musician. A contemplation by the sons of Korah.Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity! Amen, and Amen.May the Lord God of Israel be praised, through eternal days and for ever. So be it. So be it.
