Psalms 64:1Hear my voice, God, in my complaint. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Hear, O God, my voice in my plaint; preserve my life from fear of the enemy:To the end, a psalm of David. The canticle of Jeremias and Ezechiel to the people of the captivity, when they began to go out.<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> O God, let the voice of my grief come to your ear: keep my life from the fear of those who are against me.
Psalms 64:2Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, From the noisy crowd of the ones doing evil;Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumultuous crowd of the workers of iniquity,A Hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem.Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil;
Psalms 64:3Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And aim their arrows, deadly words,Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, [and] have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to thee.Who make their tongues sharp like a sword, and whose arrows are pointed, even bitter words;
Psalms 64:4To shoot innocent men from ambushes. They shoot at him suddenly and fearlessly.That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.The words of the wicked have prevailed over us: and thou wilt pardon our transgressions.So that in secret they may let loose their arrows at the upright, suddenly and unseen.
Psalms 64:5They encourage themselves in evil plans. They talk about laying snares secretly. They say, "Who will see them?"They encourage themselves in an evil matter, they concert to hide snares; they say, Who will see them?Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and taken to thee: he shall dwell in thy courts. We shall be filled with the good things of thy house; holy is thy temple,They make themselves strong in an evil purpose; they make holes for secret nets; they say, Who will see it,
Psalms 64:6They plot injustice, saying, "We have made a perfect plan!" Surely man's mind and heart are cunning.They devise iniquities: We have it ready, the plan is diligently sought out. And each one's inward [thought] and heart is deep.wonderful in justice. Hear us, O God our saviour, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off.Or make discovery of our secret purpose? The design is framed with care; and the inner thought of a man, and his heart, is deep.
Psalms 64:7But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow.But God will shoot an arrow at them: suddenly are they wounded;Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power:But God sends out an arrow against them; suddenly they are wounded.
Psalms 64:8Their own tongues shall ruin them. All who see them will shake their heads.By their own tongue they are made to fall over one another: all that see them shall flee away.who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled,The evil of their tongues is the cause of their fall; all those who see them are shaking their heads at them.
Psalms 64:9All mankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, And shall wisely ponder what he has done.And all men shall fear, and shall declare God's doing; and they shall wisely consider his work.and they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs: thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful.And in fear men make public the works of God; and giving thought to his acts they get wisdom.
Psalms 64:10The righteous shall be glad in Yahweh, And shall take refuge in him. All the upright in heart shall praise him! Psalm 65 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. A song.The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.Thou hast visited the earth, and hast plentifully watered it; thou hast many ways enriched it. The river of God is filled with water, thou hast prepared their food: for so is its preparation.The upright will be glad in the Lord and have hope in him; and all the lovers of righteousness will give him glory.
