Psalms 85:1Yahweh, you have been favorable to your land. You have restored the fortunes of Jacob.{To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.} Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob:A prayer for David himself. Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear me: for I am needy and poor.<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of the sons of Korah.> Lord, you were good to your land: changing the fate of Jacob.
Psalms 85:2You have forgiven the iniquity of your people. You have covered all their sin. Selah.Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.Preserve my soul, for I am holy: save thy servant, O my God, that trusteth in thee. The wrongdoing of your people had forgiveness; all their sin had been covered. (Selah.)
Psalms 85:3You have taken away all your wrath. You have turned from the fierceness of your anger.Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger.Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I have cried to thee all the day.You were no longer angry: you were turned from the heat of your wrath.
Psalms 85:4Turn us, God of our salvation, And cause your indignation toward us to cease.Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.Give joy to the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul.Come back to us, O God of our salvation, and be angry with us no longer.
Psalms 85:5Will you be angry with us forever? Will you draw out your anger to all generations?Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation? For thou, O Lord, art sweet and mild: and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee. Will you go on being angry with us for ever? will you keep your wrath against us through all the long generations?
Psalms 85:6Won't you revive us again, That your people may rejoice in you?Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee?Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer: and attend to the voice of my petition. Will you not give us life again, so that your people may be glad in you?
Psalms 85:7Show us your lovingkindness, Yahweh. Grant us your salvation.Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation.I have called upon thee in the day of my trouble: because thou hast heard me.Let us see your mercy, O Lord, and give us your salvation.
Psalms 85:8I will hear what God, Yahweh, will speak, For he will speak peace to his people, his saints; But let them not turn again to folly.I will hear what ùGod, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his godly ones: but let them not turn again to folly. There is none among the gods like unto thee, O Lord: and there is none according to thy works.I will give ear to the voice of the Lord; for he will say words of peace to his people and to his saints; but let them not go back to their foolish ways.
Psalms 85:9Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, That glory may dwell in our land.Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. All the nations thou hast made shall come and adore before thee, O Lord: and they shall glorify thy name.Truly, his salvation is near to his worshippers; so that glory may be in our land.
Psalms 85:10Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other:For thou art great and dost wonderful things: thou art God alone.Mercy and faith have come together; righteousness and peace have given one another a kiss.
Psalms 85:11Truth springs out of the earth. Righteousness has looked down from heaven.Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.Conduct me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name.Faith comes up from the earth like a plant; righteousness is looking down from heaven.
Psalms 85:12Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase.Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase.I will praise thee, O Lord my God: with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever:The Lord will give what is good; and our land will give its increase.
Psalms 85:13Righteousness goes before him, And prepares the way for his steps. Psalm 86 A Prayer by David.Righteousness shall go before him, and shall set his footsteps on the way.For thy mercy is great towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul out of the lower hell.Righteousness will go before him, making a way for his footsteps.
