Psalms 81:1Sing aloud to God, our strength! Make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob!{To the chief Musician. Upon the Gittith. [A Psalm] of Asaph.} Sing ye joyously unto God our strength, shout aloud unto the God of Jacob;A psalm for Asaph. God hath stood in the congregation of gods: and being in the midst of them he judgeth gods.Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.
Psalms 81:2Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, The pleasant lyre with the harp.Raise a song, and sound the tambour, the pleasant harp with the lute.How long will you judge unjustly: and accept the persons of the wicked?Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
Psalms 81:3Blow the trumpet at the New Moon, At the full moon, on our feast day.Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the set time, on our feast day:Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor.Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
Psalms 81:4For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob.For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob;Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner.For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.
Psalms 81:5He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, When he went out over the land of Egypt, I heard a language that I didn't know.He ordained it in Joseph [for] a testimony, when he went forth over the land of Egypt, [where] I heard a language that I knew not.They have not known nor understood: they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be moved.This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.
Psalms 81:6"I removed his shoulder from the burden. His hands were freed from the basket.I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the basket.I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High.I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.
Psalms 81:7You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah." Selah.Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.But you like men shall die: and shall fall like one of the princes.Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Psalms 81:8"Hear, my people, and I will testify to you. Israel, if you would listen to me!Hear, my people, and I will testify unto thee; O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto me!Arise, O God, judge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherit among all the nations.Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;
Psalms 81:9There shall be no strange god in you, Neither shall you worship any foreign god.There shall no strange ùgod be in thee, neither shalt thou worship any foreign ùgod.There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
Psalms 81:10I am Yahweh, your God, Who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.I am Jehovah thy God, that brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Psalms 81:11But my people didn't listen to my voice. Israel desired none of me.But my people hearkened not to my voice, and Israel would none of me.But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
Psalms 81:12So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, That they might walk in their own counsels.So I gave them up unto their own hearts' stubbornness: they walked after their own counsels.So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
Psalms 81:13Oh that my people would listen to me, That Israel would walk in my ways!Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, that Israel had walked in my ways!Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
Psalms 81:14I would soon subdue their enemies, And turn my hand against their adversaries.I would soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
Psalms 81:15The haters of Yahweh would cringe before him, And their punishment would last forever.The haters of Jehovah would have come cringing unto him; but their time would have been for ever.The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.
Psalms 81:16But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat. I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock." Psalm 82 A Psalm by Asaph.And he would have fed them with the finest of wheat; yea, with honey out of the rock would I have satisfied thee.He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
