Job 40:1Moreover Yahweh answered Job,And Jehovah answered Job and said,And the Lord answering Job out of the whirlwind, said :Moreover, the LORD answered Job, and said,
Job 40:2"Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it."Shall he that will contend with the Almighty instruct [him]? he that reproveth +God, let him answer it.Gird up thy loins like a man : I will ask thee, and do thou tell me.Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
Job 40:3Then Job answered Yahweh,And Job answered Jehovah and said,Wilt thou make void my judgment : and condemn me, that thou mayst be justified? Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Job 40:4"Behold, I am of small account. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.Behold, I am nought: what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth. And hast thou an arm like God, and canst thou thunder with a voice like him?Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
Job 40:5I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further."Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; yea twice, but I will proceed no further.Clothe thyself with beauty, and set thyself up on high and be glorious, and put on goodly garments.Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yes, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Job 40:6Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind,And Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,Scatter the proud in thy indignation, and behold every arrogant man, and humble him. Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Job 40:7"Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.Gird up now thy loins like a man: I will demand of thee, and inform thou me.Look on all that are proud, and confound them, and crush the wicked in their place.Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou to me.
Job 40:8Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?Wilt thou also annul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me that thou mayest be righteous?Hide them in the dust together, and plunge their faces into the pit.Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Job 40:9Or have you an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?Hast thou an arm like ùGod? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? Then I will confess that thy right hand is able to save thee.Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like his?
Job 40:10"Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.Deck thyself now with glory and excellency, and clothe thyself with majesty and splendour.Behold behemoth whom I made with thee, he eateth grass like an ox.Deck thyself now with majesty and excellence; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
Job 40:11Pour forth the fury of your anger. Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low.Cast abroad the ragings of thine anger, and look on every one that is proud, and abase him:His strength is in his loins, and his force in the navel of his belly.Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Job 40:12Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.Look on every one that is proud, bring him low, and tread down the wicked in their place:He setteth up his tail like a cedar, the sinews of his testicles are wrapped together.Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Job 40:13Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret. His bones are like pipes of brass, his gristle like plates of iron.Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret.
Job 40:14Then I will also admit to you That your own right hand can save you. Then will I also praise thee, because thy right hand saveth thee.He is the beginning of the ways of God, who made him, he will apply his sword. Then will I also confess to thee that thy own right hand can save thee.
Job 40:15"See now, behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.See now the behemoth, which I made with thee: he eateth grass as an ox.To him the mountains bring forth grass : there all the beasts of the field shall play.Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Job 40:16Look now, his strength is in his loins, His force is in the muscles of his belly.Behold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly. He sleepeth under the shadow, in the covert of the reed, and in moist places.Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Job 40:17He moves his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together. He bendeth his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are woven together. The shades cover his shadow, the willows of the brook shall compass him about. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his male organs are wrapped together.
Job 40:18His bones are like tubes of brass. His limbs are like bars of iron. His bones are tubes of bronze, his members are like bars of iron.Behold, he will drink up a river, and not wonder : and he trusteth that the Jordan may run into his mouth. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
Job 40:19He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword. He is the chief of ùGod's ways: he that made him gave him his sword. In his eyes as with a hook he shall take him, and bore through his nostrils with stakes. He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach him.
Job 40:20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the animals of the field do play. For the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.Canst thou draw out the leviathan with a hook, or canst thou tie his tongue with a cord?Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Job 40:21He lies under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the marsh. He lieth under lotus-bushes, in the covert of the reed and fen:Canst thou put a ring in his nose, or bore through his jaw with a buckle? He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
Job 40:22The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.Lotus-bushes cover him with their shade; the willows of the brook surround him. Will he make many supplications to thee, or speak soft words to thee? The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook encompass him.
Job 40:23Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn't tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.Lo, the river overfloweth he startleth not: he is confident though a Jordan break forth against his mouth. Will he make a covenant with thee, and wilt thou take him to be a servant for ever?Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Job 40:24Shall any take him when he is on the watch, Or pierce through his nose with a snare?Shall he be taken in front? will they pierce through [his] nose in the trap?Shalt thou play with him as with a bird, or tie him up for thy handmaids? He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
