Job 42:1Then Job answered Yahweh,And Job answered Jehovah and said,Then Job answered the Lord, and said :Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Job 42:2"I know that you can do all things, And that no purpose of yours can be restrained.I know that thou canst do everything, and that thou canst be hindered in no thought of thine.I know that thou canst do all things, and no thought is hid from thee.I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from thee.
Job 42:3You asked, 'Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have uttered that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I didn't know.Who is he that obscureth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered what I did not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.Who is this that hideth counsel without knowledge? Therefore I have spoken unwisely, and things that above measure exceeded my knowledge.Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that which I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
Job 42:4You said, 'Listen, now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.'Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and inform me.Hear, and I will speak : I will ask thee, and do thou tell me.Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will ask of thee, and declare thou to me.
Job 42:5I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees you.I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee:With the hearing of the ear, I have heard thee, but now my eye seeth thee.I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now my eye seeth thee.
Job 42:6Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes."Wherefore I abhor [myself], and repent in dust and ashes. Therefore I reprehend myself, and do penance in dust and ashes.Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
Job 42:7It was so, that after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.And it came to pass after Jehovah had spoken these words to Job, that Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, Mine anger is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken rightly of me, like my servant Job.And after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Themanite : My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends, because you have not spoken the thing that is right before my, as my servant Job hath. And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
Job 42:8Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has."And now, take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for him will I accept: lest I deal with you [after your] folly, for ye have not spoken of me rightly, like my servant Job.Take unto you therefore seven oxen, and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer for yourselves a holocaust : and my servant Job shall pray for you : his face I will accept, that folly be not imputed to you : for you have not spoken right things before me, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take to you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
Job 42:9So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did what Yahweh commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job.Then Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did according as Jehovah had said unto them; and Jehovah accepted Job.So Eliphaz the Themanite, and Baldad the Suhite, and Sophar the Naamathite went, and did as the Lord had spoken to them, and the Lord accepted the face of Job.So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.
Job 42:10Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before. And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he had prayed for his friends; and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before. The Lord also was turned at the penance of Job, when he prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Job 42:11Then came there to him all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house. They comforted him, and consoled him concerning all the evil that Yahweh had brought on him. Everyone also gave him a piece of money, and everyone a ring of gold. And all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house, and they condoled with him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him; and every one gave him a piece of money, and every one a golden ring. And all his brethren came to him, and all his sisters, and all that knew him before, and they ate bread with him in his house : and bemoaned him, and comforted him upon all the evil that God had brought upon him. And every man gave him one ewe, and one earring of fold. Then came there to him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house: and they condoled with him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an ear-ring of gold.
Job 42:12So Yahweh blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys. And Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. And he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
Job 42:13He had also seven sons and three daughters. And he had seven sons and three daughters. And he had seven sons, and three daughters. He had also seven sons, and three daughters.
Job 42:14He called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.And he called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.And he called the names of one Dies, and the name of the second Cassia, and the name of the third Cornustibil. And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.
Job 42:15In all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. And in all the land were no women found [so] fair as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. And there were not found in all the earth women so beautiful as the daughters of Job : and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
Job 42:16After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, to four generations. And Job lived after this a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations. And Job lived after these things, a hundred and forty years, and he saw his children, and his children's children, unto the fourth generation, and he died an old man, and full of days. After this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.
Job 42:17So Job died, being old and full of days. BOOK I Psalm 1And Job died, old and full of days.So Job died, being old and full of days.
