Psalms 17:1Hear, Yahweh, my righteous plea; Give ear to my prayer, that doesn't go out of deceitful lips.{A Prayer of David.} Hear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; give ear unto my prayer, which is not out of feigned lips.Unto the end, for David the servant of the Lord, who spoke to the Lord the words of this canticle, in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hands of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. [2 Kings 22.]A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend to my cry, give ear to my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
Psalms 17:2Let my sentence come forth from your presence; Let your eyes look on equity.Let my judgment come forth from thy presence, let thine eyes regard equity.I will love thee, O Lord, my strength:Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thy eyes behold the things that are equal.
Psalms 17:3You have proved my heart; you have visited me in the night; You have tried me, and found nothing; I have resolved that my mouth shall not disobey.Thou hast proved my heart, thou hast visited me by night; thou hast tried me, thou hast found nothing: my thought goeth not beyond my word.The Lord is my firmament, my refuge, and my deliverer. My God is my helper, and in him will I put my trust. My protector and the horn of my salvation, and my support.Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
Psalms 17:4As for the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent.Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept from the paths of the violent [man].Praising I will call upon the Lord: and I shall be saved from my enemies.Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
Psalms 17:5My steps have held fast to your paths, My feet have not slipped.When thou holdest my goings in thy paths, my footsteps slip not.The sorrows of death surrounded me: and the torrents of iniquity troubled me.Uphold my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
Psalms 17:6I have called on you, for you will answer me, God: Turn your ear to me. Hear my speech.I have called upon thee, for thou answerest me, O ùGod. Incline thine ear unto me, hear my speech.The sorrows of hell encompassed me: and the snares of death prevented me.I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thy ear to me, and hear my speech.
Psalms 17:7Show your marvelous lovingkindness, You who save those who take refuge by your right hand from their enemies.Shew wondrously thy loving-kindnesses, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].In my affliction I called upon the Lord, and I cried to my God: And he heard my voice from his holy temple: and my cry before him came into his ears.Show thy wonderful loving-kindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them who put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
Psalms 17:8Keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me under the shadow of your wings,Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,The earth shook and trembled: the foundations of the mountains were troubled and were moved, because he was angry with them.Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shade of thy wings.
Psalms 17:9From the wicked who oppress me, My deadly enemies, who compass me about.From the wicked that destroy me, my deadly enemies, who compass me about.There went up a smoke in his wrath: and a fire flamed from his face: coals were kindled by it.From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who encompass me,
Psalms 17:10They close up their callous hearts. With their mouth they speak proudly.They are enclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.He bowed the heavens, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
Psalms 17:11They have now surrounded us in our steps. They set their eyes to cast us down to the earth.They have now encompassed us in our steps; their eyes have they set, bowing down to the earth.And he ascended upon the cherubim, and he flew; he flew upon the wings of the winds.They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
Psalms 17:12He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, As it were a young lion lurking in secret places.He is like a lion that is greedy of its prey, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.And he made darkness his covert, his pavilion round about him: dark waters in the clouds of the air.Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
Psalms 17:13Arise, Yahweh, Confront him, cast him down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword;Arise, Jehovah, anticipate him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, thy sword;At the brightness that was before him the clouds passed, hail and coals of fire.Arise, O LORD disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, who is thy sword:
Psalms 17:14From men by your hand, Yahweh, From men of the world, whose portion is in this life, Whose belly you fill with your treasure: They are satisfied with children, Leave the rest of their substance to their babes.From men [who are] thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of this age: their portion is in [this] life, and their belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]; they have their fill of sons, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their children.And the Lord thundered from heaven, and the highest gave his voice: hail and coals of fire.From men who are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, who have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
Psalms 17:15As for me, I shall see your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with seeing your form. Psalm 18 For the Chief Musician. By David, the servant of Yahweh, who spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. He said,As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.And he sent forth his arrows, and he scattered them: he multiplied lightnings, and troubled them.As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
