| Psalms 34:1 | I will bless Yahweh at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth. | For David himself. Judge thou, O Lord, them that wrong me : overthrow them that fight against me. | <Of David. When he made a change in his behaviour before Abimelech, who sent him away, and he went.> I will be blessing the Lord at all times; his praise will be ever in my mouth. | By David, in his changing his behaviour before Abimelech, and he driveth him away, and he goeth. I do bless Jehovah at all times, Continually His praise [is] in my mouth. |
| Psalms 34:2 | My soul shall boast in Yahweh. The humble shall hear of it, and be glad. | Take hold of arms and shield : and rise up to help me. | My soul will say great things of the Lord: the poor in spirit will have knowledge of it and be glad. | In Jehovah doth my soul boast herself, Hear do the humble and rejoice. |
| Psalms 34:3 | Oh magnify Yahweh with me. Let us exalt his name together. | Bring out the sword, and shut up the way against them that persecute me : say to my soul : I am thy salvation. | O give praise to the Lord with me; let us be witnesses together of his great name. | Ascribe ye greatness to Jehovah with me, And we exalt His name together. |
| Psalms 34:4 | I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. | Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and be confounded that devise against me. | I was searching for the Lord, and he gave ear to my voice, and made me free from all my fears. | I sought Jehovah, and He answered me, And from all my fears did deliver me. |
| Psalms 34:5 | They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame. | Let them become as dust before the wind : and let the angel of the Lord straiten them. | Let your eyes be turned to him and you will have light, and your faces will not be shamed. | They looked expectingly unto Him, And they became bright, And their faces are not ashamed. |
| Psalms 34:6 | This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. | Let their way become dark and slippery; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them. | This poor man's cry came before the Lord, and he gave him salvation from all his troubles. | This poor [one] called, and Jehovah heard, And from all his distresses saved him. |
| Psalms 34:7 | The angel of Yahweh encamps round about those who fear him, And delivers them. | For without cause they have hidden their net for me unto destruction : without cause they have upbraided my soul. | The angel of the Lord is ever watching over those who have fear of him, to keep them safe. | A messenger of Jehovah is encamping, Round about those who fear Him, And He armeth them. |
| Psalms 34:8 | Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. | Let the snare which he knoweth not come upon him : and let the net which he hath hidden catch him : and let the net which he hath hidden catch him : and into that very snare let them fall. | By experience you will see that the Lord is good; happy is the man who has faith in him. | Taste ye and see that Jehovah [is] good, O the happiness of the man who trusteth in Him. |
| Psalms 34:9 | Oh fear Yahweh, you his saints, For there is no lack with those who fear him. | But my soul shall rejoice in the Lord; and shall be delighted in his salvation. | Keep yourselves in the fear of the Lord, all you his saints; for those who do so will have no need of anything. | Fear Jehovah, ye His holy ones, For there is no lack to those fearing Him. |
| Psalms 34:10 | The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, But those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing. | All my bones shall say : Lord, who is like to thee? Who deliverest the poor from the hand of them that are stronger than he; the needy and the poor from them that strip him. | The young lions are in need and have no food; but those who are looking to the Lord will have every good thing. | Young lions have lacked and been hungry, And those seeking Jehovah lack not any good, |
| Psalms 34:11 | Come, you children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of Yahweh. | Unjust witnesses rising up have asked me things I knew not. | Come, children, give attention to me; I will be your teacher in the fear of the Lord. | Come ye, children, hearken to me, The fear of Jehovah I do teach you. |
| Psalms 34:12 | Who is someone who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? | They repaid me evil for good : to the depriving me of my soul. | What man has a love of life, and a desire that his days may be increased so that he may see good? | Who [is] the man that is desiring life? Loving days to see good? |
| Psalms 34:13 | Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking lies. | But as for me, when they were troublesome to me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer shall be turned into my bosom. | Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from words of deceit. | Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking deceit. |
| Psalms 34:14 | Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it. | As a neighbour and as an own brother, so did I please : as one mourning and sorrowful so was I humbled. | Be turned from evil, and do good; make a search for peace, desiring it with all your heart. | Turn aside from evil and do good, Seek peace and pursue it. |
| Psalms 34:15 | The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry. | But they rejoiced against me, and came together : scourges were gathered together upon me, and I knew not. | The eyes of the Lord are on the upright, and his ears are open to their cry. | The eyes of Jehovah [are] unto the righteous, And His ears unto their cry. |
| Psalms 34:16 | The face of Yahweh is against those who do evil, To cut off the memory of them from the earth. | They were separated, and repented not : they tempted me, they scoffed at me with scorn : they gnashed upon me with their teeth. | The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to take away the memory of them from the earth. | (The face of Jehovah [is] on doers of evil, To cut off from earth their memorial.) |
| Psalms 34:17 | The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. | Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? rescue thou soul from their malice : my only one from the lions. | The cry of the upright comes before the Lord, and he takes them out of all their troubles. | They cried, and Jehovah heard, And from all their distresses delivered them. |
| Psalms 34:18 | Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves those who have a crushed spirit. | I will give thanks to thee in a great church; I will praise thee in a strong people. | The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down. | Near [is] Jehovah to the broken of heart, And the bruised of spirit He saveth. |
| Psalms 34:19 | Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But Yahweh delivers him out of them all. | Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me : who have hated me without cause, and wink with the eyes. | Great are the troubles of the upright: but the Lord takes him safely out of them all. | Many [are] the evils of the righteous, Out of them all doth Jehovah deliver him. |
| Psalms 34:20 | He protects all of his bones. Not one of them is broken. | For they spoke indeed peaceably to me; and speaking in the anger of the earth they devised guile. | He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken. | He is keeping all his bones, One of them hath not been broken. |
| Psalms 34:21 | Evil shall kill the wicked. Those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. | And they opened their mouth wide against me; they said : Well done, well done, our eyes have seen it. | Evil will put an end to the sinner, and those who are haters of righteousness will come to destruction. | Evil doth put to death the wicked, And those hating the righteous are desolate. |
| Psalms 34:22 | Yahweh redeems the soul of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him shall be condemned. Psalm 35 By David. | Thou hast seen, O Lord, be not thou silent : O Lord, depart not from me. | The Lord will be the saviour of the souls of his servants, and no one who has faith in him will be put to shame. | Jehovah redeemeth the soul of His servants, And none trusting in Him are desolate! |
