Proverbs 2:1My son, if you will receive my words, And store up my commandments within you;My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;My son, if you will take my words to your heart, storing up my laws in your mind;My son, if thou dost accept my sayings, And my commands dost lay up with thee,
Proverbs 2:2So as to turn your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;So that thou incline thy ear to wisdom, and apply thy heart to understanding;So that your ear gives attention to wisdom, and your heart is turned to knowledge;To cause thine ear to attend to wisdom, Thou inclinest thy heart to understanding,
Proverbs 2:3Yes, if you call out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding;Yes, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;Truly, if you are crying out for good sense, and your request is for knowledge;For, if for intelligence thou callest, For understanding givest forth thy voice,
Proverbs 2:4If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures:If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;If you are looking for her as for silver, and searching for her as for stored-up wealth;If thou dost seek her as silver, And as hid treasures searchest for her,
Proverbs 2:5Then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, And find the knowledge of God.Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.Then the fear of the Lord will be clear to you, and knowledge of God will be yours.Then understandest thou fear of Jehovah, And knowledge of God thou findest.
Proverbs 2:6For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.For the Lord gives wisdom; out of his mouth come knowledge and reason:For Jehovah giveth wisdom, From His mouth knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:7He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity;He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.He has salvation stored up for the upright, he is a breastplate to those in whom there is no evil;Even to lay up for the upright substance, A shield for those walking uprightly.
Proverbs 2:8That he may guard the paths of justice, And preserve the way of his saints.He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.He keeps watch on the ways which are right, and takes care of those who have the fear of him.To keep the paths of judgment, And the way of His saints He preserveth.
Proverbs 2:9Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; and every good path.Then you will have knowledge of righteousness and right acting, and upright behaviour, even of every good way.Then understandest thou righteousness, And judgment, and uprightness every good path.
Proverbs 2:10For wisdom will enter into your heart. Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.When wisdom entereth into thy heart, and knowledge is pleasant to thy soul;For wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasing to your soul;For wisdom cometh into thy heart, And knowledge to thy soul is pleasant,
Proverbs 2:11Discretion will watch over you. Understanding will keep you,Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:Wise purposes will be watching over you, and knowledge will keep you;Thoughtfulness doth watch over thee, Understanding doth keep thee,
Proverbs 2:12To deliver you from the way of evil, From the men who speak perverse things;To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;Giving you salvation from the evil man, from those whose words are false;To deliver thee from an evil way, From any speaking froward things,
Proverbs 2:13Who forsake the paths of uprightness, To walk in the ways of darkness;Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;Who give up the way of righteousness, to go by dark roads;Who are forsaking paths of uprightness, To walk in ways of darkness,
Proverbs 2:14Who rejoice to do evil, And delight in the perverseness of evil;Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;Who take pleasure in wrongdoing, and have joy in the evil designs of the sinner;Who are rejoicing to do evil, They delight in frowardness of the wicked,
Proverbs 2:15Who are crooked in their ways, And wayward in their paths:Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:Whose ways are not straight, and whose footsteps are turned to evil:Whose paths [are] crooked, Yea, they are perverted in their ways.
Proverbs 2:16To deliver you from the strange woman, Even from the foreigner who flatters with her words;To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger who flattereth with her words;To take you out of the power of the strange woman, who says smooth words with her tongue;To deliver thee from the strange woman, From the stranger who hath made smooth her sayings,
Proverbs 2:17Who forsakes the friend of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God:Who forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.Who is false to the husband of her early years, and does not keep the agreement of her God in mind:Who is forsaking the guide of her youth, And the covenant of her God hath forgotten.
Proverbs 2:18For her house leads down to death, Her paths to the dead.For her house inclineth to death, and her paths to the dead.For her house is on the way down to death; her footsteps go down to the shades:For her house hath inclined unto death, And unto Rephaim her paths.
Proverbs 2:19None who go to her return again, Neither do they attain to the paths of life:None that go to her return again, neither do they take hold of the paths of life.Those who go to her do not come back again; their feet do not keep in the ways of life:None going in unto her turn back, Nor do they reach the paths of life.
Proverbs 2:20That you may walk in the way of good men, And keep the paths of the righteous.That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.So that you may go in the way of good men, and keep in the footsteps of the upright.That thou dost go in the way of the good, And the paths of the righteous dost keep.
Proverbs 2:21For the upright will dwell in the land. The perfect will remain in it.For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.For the upright will be living in the land, and the good will have it for their heritage.For the upright do inhabit the earth, And the perfect are left in it,
Proverbs 2:22But the wicked will be cut off from the land. The treacherous will be rooted out of it.But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.But sinners will be cut off from the land, and those whose acts are false will be uprooted.And the wicked from the earth are cut off, And treacherous dealers plucked out of it!
