| Psalms 39:1 | I said, "I will watch my ways, so that I don't sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me." | To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. | Unto the end, a psalm for David himself. | To the Overseer, to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. I have said, `I observe my ways, Against sinning with my tongue, I keep for my mouth a curb, while the wicked [is] before me.` |
| Psalms 39:2 | I was mute with silence. I held my peace, even from good. My sorrow was stirred. | I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. | With expectation I have waited for the Lord, and he was attentive to me. | I was dumb [with] silence, I kept silent from good, and my pain is excited. |

He heaps up, and doesn't know who shall gather. | Surely every man walketh in a vain show: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. | Thou hast multiplied thy wonderful works, O Lord my God : and in thy thoughts there is no one like to thee. I have declared and I have spoken they are multiplied above number. | Only, in an image doth each walk habitually, Only, [in] vain, they are disquieted, He heapeth up and knoweth not who gathereth them. |
