Psalms 82:1God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods.A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.A canticle of a psalm for Asaph.A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.
Psalms 82:2"How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked?" Selah.How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.Till when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? Selah.
Psalms 82:3"Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.Judge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.
Psalms 82:4Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."Deliver the poor and needy: deliver them from the hand of the wicked.They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.Let the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.
Psalms 82:5They don't know, neither do they understand. They walk back and forth in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken.They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.They knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.
Psalms 82:6I said, "You are gods, All of you are sons of the Most High.I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the Most High.For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,I I have said, `Gods ye [are], And sons of the Most High all of you,
Psalms 82:7Nevertheless you shall die like men, And fall like one of the rulers."But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.the tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,But as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,
Psalms 82:8Arise, God, judge the earth, For you inherit all of the nations. Psalm 83 A song.
