Isaiah 63:1`Who [is] this coming from Edom? With dyed garments from Bozrah? This that is honourable in his clothing, Travelling in the abundance of his power?` `I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.`Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Who is this who comes from Edom, with blood-red robes from Bozrah? he whose clothing is fair, stepping with pride in his great strength? I whose glory is in the right, strong for salvation.Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
Isaiah 63:2`Wherefore [is] thy clothing red? And thy garments as treading in a wine fat?`Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winevat? Why is your clothing red, and why are your robes like those of one who is crushing the grapes? Why art thou red in thy apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the wine-vat.
Isaiah 63:3`A wine-press I have trodden by myself, And of the peoples there is no one with me, And I tread them in mine anger, And I trample them in my fury, Sprinkled is their strength on my garments, And all my clothing I have polluted.I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment. I have been crushing the grapes by myself, and of the peoples there was no man with me: in my wrath and in my passion, they were crushed under my feet; and my robes are marked with their life-blood, and all my clothing is red.I have trodden the wine-press alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in my anger, and trample them in my fury, and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
Isaiah 63:4For the day of vengeance [is] in my heart, And the year of my redeemed hath come. For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. For the day of punishment is in my heart, and the year for the payment of the price for my people has come. For the day of vengeance is in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
Isaiah 63:5And I look attentively, and there is none helping, And I am astonished that there is none supporting, And give salvation to me doth mine own arm. And my wrath it hath supported me.And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me. And I saw that there was no helper, and I was wondering that no one gave them support: so my arm did the work of salvation, and my wrath was my support. And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation to me; and my fury, it upheld me.
Isaiah 63:6And I tread down peoples in mine anger, And I make them drunk in my fury, And I bring down to earth their strength. And I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth. And in my passion the peoples were crushed under my feet, and broken in my wrath, and I put down their strength to the earth. And I will tread down the people in my anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
Isaiah 63:7The kind acts of Jehovah I make mention of, The praises of Jehovah, According to all that Jehovah hath done for us, And the abundance of the goodness to the house of Israel, That He hath done for them, According to His mercies, And according to the abundance of His kind acts.I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah, [and] the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. I will give news of the mercies of the Lord, and his great acts, even all the things the Lord has done for us, in his great grace to the house of Israel; even all he has done for us in his unnumbered mercies.I will mention the loving-kindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness towards the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses.
Isaiah 63:8And He saith, Only My people they [are], Sons they lie not, and He is to them for a saviour. For he said, Surely, they are my people, children that will not deal falsely: so he was their Saviour. For he said, Truly they are my people, children who will not be false: so he was their saviour out of all their trouble. For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Savior.
Isaiah 63:9In all their distress [He is] no adversary, And the messenger of His presence saved them, In His love and in His pity He redeemed them, And He doth lift them up, And beareth them all the days of old.In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. It was no sent one or angel, but he himself who was their saviour: in his love and in his pity he took up their cause, and he took them in his arms, caring for them all through the years. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
Isaiah 63:10And they have rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit, And He turneth to them for an enemy, He Himself hath fought against them. But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] himself fought against them. But they went against him, causing grief to his holy spirit: so he was turned against them, and made war on them. But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
Isaiah 63:11And He remembereth the days of old, Moses his people. Where [is] He who is bringing them up from the sea, The shepherd of his flock? Where [is] He who is putting in its midst His Holy Spirit? Then he remembered the days of old, Moses [and] his people, [saying], Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them? Then the early days came to their minds, the days of Moses his servant: and they said, Where is he who made the keeper of his flock come up from the sea? where is he who put his holy spirit among them,Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?
Isaiah 63:12Leading by the right hand of Moses, the arm of His glory, Cleaving waters from before them, To make to Himself a name age-during.that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name? He who made the arm of his glory go at the right hand of Moses, by whom the waters were parted before them, to make himself an eternal name; That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
Isaiah 63:13Leading them through the depths, As a horse in a plain they stumble not.that led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not? He who made them go through the deep waters, like a horse in the waste land? That led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?
Isaiah 63:14As a beast into a valley goeth down, The Spirit of Jehovah causeth him to rest, So hast Thou led Thy people, To make to Thyself a glorious name.As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah caused them to rest; so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name. Like the cattle which go down into the valley, they went without falling, the spirit of the Lord guiding them: so you went before your people, to make yourself a great name.As a beast goeth down in the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Isaiah 63:15Look attentively from the heavens, And see from Thy holy and beauteous habitation, Where [is] Thy zeal and Thy might? The multitude of Thy bowels and Thy mercies Towards me have refrained themselves.Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where are thy zeal and thy mighty acts? the yearning of thy heart and thy compassions are restrained toward me. Let your eyes be looking down from heaven, from your holy and beautiful house: where is your deep feeling, the working of your power? do not keep back the moving of your pity and your mercies:Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies towards me? are they restrained?
Isaiah 63:16For Thou [art] our Father, For Abraham hath not known us, And Israel doth not acknowledge us, Thou, O Jehovah, [art] our Father, Our redeemer from the age, [is] Thy name. For thou art our Father, though Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us: thou, O Jehovah, art our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name. For you are our father, though Abraham has no knowledge of us, and Israel gives no thought to us: you, O Lord, are our father; from the earliest days you have taken up our cause.Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our Redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
Isaiah 63:17Why causest Thou us to wander, O Jehovah, from Thy ways? Thou hardenest our heart from Thy fear, Turn back for Thy servants` sake, The tribes of Thine inheritance.O Jehovah, why dost thou make us to err from thy ways, and hardenest our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. O Lord, why do you send us wandering from your ways, making our hearts hard, so that we have no fear of you? Come back, because of your servants, the tribes of your heritage.O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thy inheritance.
Isaiah 63:18For a little while did Thy holy people possess, Our adversaries have trodden down Thy sanctuary.Thy holy people possessed [it] but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. Why have evil men gone over your holy place, so that it has been crushed under the feet of our haters? The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.
Isaiah 63:19We have been from of old, Thou hast not ruled over them, Not called is Thy name upon them!We are become as they over whom thou never barest rule, as they that were not called by thy name. We have become as those who were never ruled by you, on whom your name was not named. We are thine: thou never didst bear rule over them; they were not called by thy name.
