| Psalms 62:1 | To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Only toward God [is] my soul silent, From Him [is] my salvation. | <To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. A Psalm. Of David.> My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation. | My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him [cometh] my salvation. | A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom. |
| Psalms 62:2 | Only He [is] my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved. | He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. | He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved. | O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways! |
| Psalms 62:3 | Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down. | How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling? | How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay [him], all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? | In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory. |
| Psalms 62:4 | Only from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie, with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah. | Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.) | They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. In balances to go up they than vanity [are] lighter. | Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath. | Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity. | my soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me. |
| Psalms 62:10 | Trust not in oppression, And in robbery become not vain, Wealth when it increaseth set not the heart. | Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it. | Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart [thereon]. | But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth: |
| Psalms 62:11 | Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That `strength [is] with God.` | Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's: | God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God. | They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes. |
