| Isaiah 27:1 | In that day lay a charge doth Jehovah, With his sword the sharp, and the great, and the strong, On leviathan a fleeing serpent, And on leviathan a crooked serpent, And He hath slain the dragon that [is] in the sea. | In that day the Lord, with his great and strong and cruel sword, will send punishment on Leviathan, the quick-moving snake, and on Leviathan, the twisted snake; and he will put to death the dragon which is in the sea. | In that day Jehovah, with his sore and great and strong sword, will visit leviathan the fleeing serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he will slay the monster that is in the sea. | In that day the Lord with his hard, and great, and strong sword shall visit leviathan the bar serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent, and shall slay the whale that is in the see. |
| Isaiah 27:2 | In that day, `A desirable vineyard,` respond ye to her, | In that day it will be said, A vine-garden of delight, make a song about it. | In that day [there shall be] a vineyard of pure wine; sing concerning it: | In that day there shall be singing to the vineyard of pure wine. |
| Isaiah 27:3 | I, Jehovah, am its keeper, every moment I water it, Lest any lay a charge against it, Night and day I keep it! | I, the Lord, am watching it; I will give it water at all times: I will keep it night and day, for fear that any damage comes to it. | I Jehovah keep it, I will water it every moment; lest any harm it, I will keep it night and day. | I am the Lord that keep it, I will suddenly give it drink: lest any hurt come to it, I keep it night and day. |
| Isaiah 27:4 | Fury is not in Me; Who giveth Me a brier a thorn in battle? I step into it, I burn it at once. | My passion is over: if the thorns were fighting against me, I would make an attack on them, and they would be burned up together. | Fury is not in me. Oh that I had briars [and] thorns in battle against me! I would march against them, I would burn them together. | There is no indignation in m: who shall make me a thorn and a brier in battle: shall march against it, shall I set it on fire together? |
| Isaiah 27:5 | Or he doth take hold on My strength, He doth make peace with Me, Peace he doth make with Me. | Or let him put himself under my power, and make peace with me. | Or let him take hold of my strength; let him make peace with me: [yea,] let him make peace with me. | Or rather shall it take hold of my strength, shall it make peace with me, shall it make peace with me? |
| Isaiah 27:6 | Those coming in He causeth to take root, Jacob doth blossom, and flourished hath Israel, And they have filled the face of the world [with] increase. | In days to come Jacob will take root: Israel will put out buds and flowers; and the face of the world will be full of fruit. | In the future Jacob shall take root; Israel shall blossom and bud, and they shall fill the face of the world with fruit. | When they shall rush in unto Jacob, Israel shall blossom and bud, and they shall fill the face of the world with seed. |
| Isaiah 27:7 | As the smiting of his smiter hath He smitten him? As the slaying of his slain doth He slay? | Is his punishment like the punishment of those who overcame him? or are his dead as great in number as those he put to the sword? | Hath he smitten him according to the smiting of those that smote him? Is he slain according to the slaughter of those slain by him? | Hath he struck him according to the stroke of him that struck him? or is he slain, as he killed them that were slain by him? |
| Isaiah 27:8 | In measure, in sending it forth, thou strivest with it, He hath taken away by His sharp wind, In the day of an east wind, | Your anger against her has been made clear by driving her away; he has taken her away with his storm-wind in the day of his east wind. | In measure, when sending her away, didst thou contend with her: he hath taken [her] away with his rough wind in the day of the east wind. | In measure against measure, when it shall be cast off, thou shalt judge it. He hath meditated with his severe spirit in the day of heat. |
| Isaiah 27:9 | Therefore by this is the iniquity of Jacob covered, And this [is] all the fruit To take away his sin, in His setting all the stones of an altar, As chalkstones beaten in pieces, They rise not shrines and images. | So by this will the sin of Jacob be covered, and this is all the fruit of taking away his punishment; when all the stones of the altar are crushed together, so that the wood pillars and the sun-images will not be put up again. | By this, therefore, shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit of the taking away of his sin: when he shall make all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are crumbled in pieces, the Asherahs and the sun-images shall not stand. | Therefore upon this shall the iniquity of the house of Jacob be forgiven: and this is all the fruit, that the sin thereof should be taken away, when he shall have made all the stones of the altar, as burnt stones broken in pieces, the groves and temples shall not stand. |
| Isaiah 27:10 | For the fenced city [is] alone, A habitation cast out and forsaken as a wilderness, There doth the calf delight, And there it lieth down, And hath consumed its branches. | For the strong town is without men, an unpeopled living-place; and she has become a waste land: there the young ox will take his rest, and its branches will be food for him. | For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation abandoned and forsaken like a wilderness; there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume its boughs. | For the strong city shall be desolate, the beautiful city shall be forsaken, and shall be left as a wilderness : there the calf shall feed, and there shall he lie down, and shall consume its branches. |
| Isaiah 27:11 | In the withering of its branch it is broken off, Women are coming in setting it on fire, For it [is] not a people of understanding, Therefore pity it not doth its Maker, And its Former doth not favour it. | When its branches are dry they will be broken off; the women will come and put fire to them: for it is a foolish people; for this cause he who made them will have no mercy on them, and he whose work they are will not have pity on them. | When its branches are withered they shall be broken off; women shall come [and] set them on fire. For it is a people of no intelligence; therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he who formed them will shew them no favour. | Its harvest shall be destroyed with drought, women shall come and teach it: for it is not a wise people, therefore he that made it, shall not have mercy on it: and he that formed it, shall not spare it. |
| Isaiah 27:12 | And it hath come to pass, in that day, Beat out doth Jehovah from the branch of the river, Unto the stream of Egypt, And ye are gathered one by one, O sons of Israel. | And it will be in that day that the Lord will get together his grain, from the River to the stream of Egypt, and you will be got together with care, O children of Israel. | And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah shall beat out from the flood of the river unto the torrent of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, [ye] children of Israel. | And it shall come to pass, that in that day the Lord will strike from the channel of the river even to the torrent of Egypt, and you shall be gathered together one by one, O ye children of Israel. |
| Isaiah 27:13 | And it hath come to pass, in that day, It is blown with a great trumpet, And come in have those perishing in the land of Asshur, And those cast out in the land of Egypt, And have bowed themselves to Jehovah, In the holy mount in Jerusalem! | And it will be in that day that a great horn will be sounded; and those who were wandering in the land of Assyria, and those who had been sent away into the land of Egypt, will come; and they will give worship to the Lord in the holy mountain at Jerusalem. | And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the great trumpet shall be blown; and they shall come that were perishing in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and they shall worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem. | And it shall come to pass, that in that day a noise shall be made with a great trumpet, and they that were lost, shall come from the land of the Assyrians, and they that were outcasts in the land of Egypt, and they shall adore the Lord in the holy mount in Jerusalem. |
