| Psalms 16:1 | A Secret Treasure of David. Preserve me, O God, for I did trust in Thee. | <Michtam. Of David.> Keep me safe, O God: for in you I have put my faith. | {Michtam of David.} Preserve me, O ùGod: for I trust in thee. | The prayer of David. Hear, O Lord, my justice: attend to my supplication. Give ear unto my prayer, which proceedeth not from deceitful lips. |
| Psalms 16:2 | Thou hast said to Jehovah, `My Lord Thou [art];` My good [is] not for thine own sake; | O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are my Lord: I have no good but you. | Thou [my soul] hast said to Jehovah, Thou art the Lord: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee; | Let my judgment come forth from thy countenance: let thy eyes behold the things that are equitable. |
| Psalms 16:3 | For the holy ones who [are] in the land, And the honourable, all my delight [is] in them. | As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the noble in whom is all my delight. | To the saints that are on the earth, and to the excellent [thou hast said], In them is all my delight. | Thou hast proved my heart, and visited it by night, thou hast tried me by fire: and iniquity hath not been found in me. |
| Psalms 16:4 | Multiplied are their griefs, [Who] have hastened backward; I pour not out their libations of blood, Nor do I take up their names on my lips. | Their sorrows will be increased who go after another god: I will not take drink offerings from their hands, or take their names on my lips. | Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another: their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, and I will not take up their names into my lips. | That my mouth may not speak the works of men: for the sake of the words of thy lips, I have kept hard ways. |
| Psalms 16:5 | Jehovah [is] the portion of my share, and of my cup, Thou Thou dost uphold my lot. | The Lord is my heritage and the wine of my cup; you are the supporter of my right. | Jehovah is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. | Perfect thou my goings in thy paths: that my footsteps be not moved. |
| Psalms 16:6 | Lines have fallen to me in pleasant places, Yea, a beauteous inheritance [is] for me. | Fair are the places marked out for me; I have a noble heritage. | The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. | I have cried to thee, for thou, O God, hast heard me: O incline thy ear unto me, and hear my words. |
| Psalms 16:7 | I bless Jehovah who hath counselled me; Also [in] the nights my reins instruct me. | I will give praise to the Lord who has been my guide; knowledge comes to me from my thoughts in the night. | I will bless Jehovah, who giveth me counsel; even in the nights my reins instruct me. | Shew forth thy wonderful mercies; thou who savest them that trust in thee. |
| Psalms 16:8 | I did place Jehovah before me continually, Because at my right hand I am not moved. | I have put the Lord before me at all times; because he is at my right hand, I will not be moved. | I have set Jehovah continually before me; because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved. | From them that resist thy right hand keep me, as the apple of thy eye. Protect me under the shadow of thy wings. |
| Psalms 16:9 | Therefore hath my heart been glad, And my honour doth rejoice, Also my flesh dwelleth confidently: | Because of this my heart is glad, and my glory is full of joy: while my flesh takes its rest in hope. | Therefore my heart rejoiceth, and my glory exulteth; my flesh moreover shall dwell in hope. | From the face of the wicked who have afflicted me. My enemies have surrounded my soul: |
| Psalms 16:10 | For Thou dost not leave my soul to Sheol, Nor givest thy saintly one to see corruption. | For you will not let my soul be prisoned in the underworld; you will not let your loved one see the place of death. | For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol, neither wilt thou allow thy Holy One to see corruption. | they have shut up their fat: their mouth hath spoken proudly. |
| Psalms 16:11 | Thou causest me to know the path of life; Fulness of joys [is] with Thy presence, Pleasant things by Thy right hand for ever! | You will make clear to me the way of life; where you are joy is complete; in your right hand there are pleasures for ever and ever. | Thou wilt make known to me the path of life: thy countenance is fulness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore. | They have cast me forth and now they have surrounded me: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth. |
