Psalms 87:2Jehovah is loving the gates of Zion Above all the tabernacles of Jacob.The Lord has more love for the doors of Zion than for all the tents of Jacob.Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion more than all the habitations of Jacob.O Lord, the God of my salvation: I have cried in the day, and in the night before thee.
Psalms 87:3Honourable things are spoken in Thee, O city of God. Selah.Noble things are said of you, O town of God. (Selah.)Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.Let my prayer come in before thee: incline thy ear to my petition.
Psalms 87:4I mention Rahab and Babel to those knowing Me, Lo, Philistia, and Tyre, with Cush! This [one] was born there.Rahab and Babylon will be named among those who have knowledge of me; see, Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man had his birth there.I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon among them that know me; behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: this [man] was born there.For my soul is filled with evils: and my life hath drawn nigh to hell.
Psalms 87:5And of Zion it is said: Each one was born in her, And He, the Most High, doth establish her.And of Zion it will be said, This or that man had his birth there; and the Most High will make her strong.And of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her; and the Most High himself shall establish her.I am counted among them that go down to the pit: I am become as a man without help,
Psalms 87:6Jehovah doth recount in the describing of the peoples, `This [one] was born there.` Selah.The Lord will keep in mind, when he is writing the records of the people, that this man had his birth there. (Selah.)Jehovah will count, when he inscribeth the peoples, This [man] was born there. Selah.free among the dead. Like the slain sleeping in the sepulchres, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cast off from thy hand.
Psalms 87:7Singers also as players on instruments, All my fountains [are] in Thee!The players on instruments will be there, and the dancers will say, All my springs are in you.As well the singers as the dancers [shall say], All my springs are in thee.They have laid me in the lower pit: in the dark places, and in the shadow of death.
