Psalms 26:1By David. Judge me, O Jehovah, for I in mine integrity have walked, And in Jehovah I have trusted, I slide not.<Of David.> O Lord, be my judge, for my behaviour has been upright: I have put my faith in the Lord, I am not in danger of slipping.Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. The psalm of David before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalms 26:2Try me, O Jehovah, and prove me, Purified [are] my reins and my heart.Put me in the scales, O Lord, so that I may be tested; let the fire make clean my thoughts and my heart.Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.Whilst the wicked draw near against me, to eat my flesh. My enemies that trouble me, have themselves been weakened, and have fallen.
Psalms 26:3For Thy kindness [is] before mine eyes, And I have walked habitually in Thy truth. For your mercy is before my eyes; and I have gone in the way of your good faith. For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. If armies in camp should stand together against me, my heart shall not fear. If a battle should rise up against me, in this will I be confident.
Psalms 26:4I have not sat with vain men, And with dissemblers I enter not.I have not taken my seat with foolish persons, and I do not go with false men.I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. One thing I have asked of the Lord, this will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. That I may see the delight of the Lord, and may visit his temple.
Psalms 26:5I have hated the assembly of evil doers, And with the wicked I sit not.I have been a hater of the band of wrongdoers, and I will not be seated among sinners.I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. For he hath hidden me in his tabernacle; in the day of evils, he hath protected me in the secret place of his tabernacle.
Psalms 26:6I wash in innocency my hands, And I compass Thine altar, O Jehovah.I will make my hands clean from sin; so will I go round your altar, O Lord;I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:He hath exalted me upon a rock: and now he hath lifted up my head above my enemies. I have gone round, and have offered up in his tabernacle a sacrifice of jubilation: I will sing, and recite a psalm to the Lord.
Psalms 26:7To sound with a voice of confession, And to recount all Thy wonders. That I may give out the voice of praise, and make public all the wonders which you have done. That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.Hear, O Lord, my voice, with which I have cried to thee: have mercy on me and hear me.
Psalms 26:8Jehovah, I have loved the habitation of Thy house, And the place of the tabernacle of Thine honour.Lord, your house has been dear to me, and the resting-place of your glory.LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. My heart hath said to thee: My face hath sought thee: thy face, O Lord, will I still seek.
Psalms 26:9Do not gather with sinners my soul, And with men of blood my life,Let not my soul be numbered among sinners, or my life among men of blood;Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:Turn not away thy face from me; decline not in thy wrath from thy servant. Be thou my helper, forsake me not; do not thou despise me, O God my Saviour.
Psalms 26:10In whose hand [is] a wicked device, And their right hand [is] full of bribes. In whose hands are evil designs, and whose right hands take money for judging falsely. In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. For my father and my mother have left me: but the Lord hath taken me up.
Psalms 26:11And I, in mine integrity I walk, Redeem me, and favour me.But as for me, I will go on in my upright ways: be my saviour, and have mercy on me.But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.Set me, O Lord, a law in thy way, and guide me in the right path, because of my enemies.
Psalms 26:12My foot hath stood in uprightness, In assemblies I bless Jehovah!I have a safe resting-place for my feet; I will give praise to the Lord in the meetings of the people. My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.Deliver me not over to the will of them that trouble me; for unjust witnesses have risen up against me; and iniquity hath lied to itself.
