Psalms 82:1A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.<A Psalm. Of Asaph.> God is in the meeting-place of God; he is judging among the gods.God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. A canticle of a psalm for Asaph.
Psalms 82:2Till when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? Selah.How long will you go on judging falsely, having respect for the persons of evil-doers? (Selah.)How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.
Psalms 82:3Judge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights.Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Psalms 82:4Let the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.Be the saviour of the poor and those who have nothing: take them out of the hand of the evil-doers.Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.
Psalms 82:5They knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.They have no knowledge or sense; they go about in the dark: all the bases of the earth are moved.They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.
Psalms 82:6I I have said, `Gods ye [are], And sons of the Most High all of you,I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High:I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,
Psalms 82:7But as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,But you will come to death like men, falling like one of the rulers of the earth.But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.the tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,
Psalms 82:8Rise, O God, judge the earth, For Thou hast inheritance among all the nations!Up! O God, come as judge of the earth; for all the nations are your heritage.Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.
