| 2nd-Corinthians 5:1 | For we have known that if our earthly house of the tabernacle may be thrown down, a building from God we have, an house not made with hands age-during in the heavens, | For we are conscious that if this our tent of flesh is taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in heaven. | For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. | For we know, if our earthly house of this habitation be dissolved, that we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:2 | for also in this we groan, with our dwelling that is from heaven earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves, | For in this we are crying in weariness, greatly desiring to be clothed with our house from heaven: | For most assuredly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven; | For in this also we groan, desiring to be clothed upon with our habitation that is from heaven. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:3 | if so be that, having clothed ourselves, we shall not be found naked, | So that our spirits may not be unclothed. | if so be that being clothed we will not be found naked. | Yet so that we be found clothed, not naked. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:4 | for we also who are in the tabernacle do groan, being burdened, seeing we wish not to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves, that the mortal may be swallowed up of the life. | For truly, we who are in this tent do give out cries of weariness, for the weight of care which is on us; not because we are desiring to be free from the body, but so that we may have our new body, and death may be overcome by life. | For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. | For we also, who are in this tabernacle, do groan, being burthened; because we would not be unclothed, but clothed upon, that that which is mortal may be swallowed up by life. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:5 | And He who did work us to this self-same thing [is] God, who also did give to us the earnest of the Spirit; | Now he who has made us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a witness of what is to come. | Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit. | Now he that maketh us for this very thing, is God, who hath given us the pledge of the Spirit. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:6 | having courage, then, at all times, and knowing that being at home in the body, we are away from home from the Lord, | So, then, we are ever without fear, and though conscious that while we are in the body we are away from the Lord, | Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; | Therefore having always confidence, knowing that, while we are in the body, we are absent from the Lord. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:7 | for through faith we walk, not through sight | (For we are walking by faith, not by seeing,) | for we walk by faith, not by sight. | (For we walk by faith, and not by sight.) |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:8 | we have courage, and are well pleased rather to be away from the home of the body, and to be at home with the Lord. | We are without fear, desiring to be free from the body, and to be with the Lord. | We are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord. | But we are confident, and have a good will to be absent rather from the body, and to be present with the Lord. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:9 | Wherefore also we are ambitious, whether at home or away from home, to be well pleasing to him, | For this reason we make it our purpose, in the body or away from it, to be well-pleasing to him. | Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him. | And therefore we labour, whether absent or present, to please him. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:10 | for all of us it behoveth to be manifested before the tribunal of the Christ, that each one may receive the things [done] through the body, in reference to the things that he did, whether good or evil; | For we all have to come before Christ to be judged; so that every one of us may get his reward for the things done in the body, good or bad. | For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. | For we must all be manifested before the judgement seat of Christ, that every one may receive the proper things of the body, according as he hath done, whether it be good or evil. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:11 | having known, therefore, the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, and to God we are manifested, and I hope also in your consciences to have been manifested; | Having in mind, then, the fear of the Lord, we put these things before men, but God sees our hearts; and it is my hope that we may seem right in your eyes. | Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are revealed to God; and I hope that we are revealed also in your consciences. | Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we use persuasion to men; but to God we are manifest. And I trust also that in your consciences we are manifest. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:12 | for not again ourselves do we recommend to you, but we are giving occasion to you of glorifying in our behalf, that ye may have [something] in reference to those glorifying in face and not in heart; | We are not again requesting your approval, but we are giving you the chance of taking pride in us, so that you may be able to give an answer to those whose glory is in seeming, and not in the heart. | For we are not commending ourselves to you again, but speak as giving you occasion of boasting on our behalf, that you may have something to answer those who boast in appearance, and not in heart. | We commend not ourselves again to you, but give you occasion to glory in our behalf; that you may have somewhat to answer them who glory in face, and not in heart. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:13 | for whether we were beside ourselves, [it was] to God; whether we be of sound mind [it is] to you, | For if we are foolish, it is to God; or if we are serious, it is for you. | For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God. Or if we are of sober mind, it is for you. | For whether we be transported in mind, it is to God; or whether we be sober, it is for you. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:14 | for the love of the Christ doth constrain us, having judged thus: that if one for all died, then the whole died, | For it is the love of Christ which is moving us; because we are of the opinion that if one was put to death for all, then all have undergone death; | For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died. | For the charity of Christ presseth us: judging this, that if one died for all, then all were dead. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:15 | and for all he died, that those living, no more to themselves may live, but to him who died for them, and was raised again. | And that he underwent death for all, so that the living might no longer be living to themselves, but to him who underwent death for them and came back from the dead. | He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again. | And Christ died for all; that they also who live, may not now live to themselves, but unto him who died for them, and rose again. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:16 | So that we henceforth have known no one according to the flesh, and even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him no more; | For this reason, from this time forward we have knowledge of no man after the flesh: even if we have had knowledge of Christ after the flesh, we have no longer any such knowledge. | Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more. | Wherefore henceforth, we know no man according to the flesh. And if we have known Christ according to the flesh; but now we know him so no longer. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:17 | so that if any one [is] in Christ [he is] a new creature; the old things did pass away, lo, become new have the all things. | So if any man is in Christ, he is in a new world: the old things have come to an end; they have truly become new. | Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, they have become new. | If then any be in Christ a new creature, the old things are passed away, behold all things are made new. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:18 | And the all things [are] of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and did give to us the ministration of the reconciliation, | But all things are of God, who has made us at peace with himself through Christ, and has given to us the work of making peace; | But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; | But all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Christ; and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:19 | how that God was in Christ a world reconciling to Himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses; and having put in us the word of the reconciliation, | That is, that God was in Christ making peace between the world and himself, not putting their sins to their account, and having given to us the preaching of this news of peace. | namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. | For God indeed was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing to them their sins; and he hath placed in us the word of reconciliation. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:20 | in behalf of Christ, then, we are ambassadors, as if God were calling through us, we beseech, in behalf of Christ, `Be ye reconciled to God;` | So we are the representatives of Christ, as if God was making a request to you through us: we make our request to you, in the name of Christ, be at peace with God. | We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. | For Christ therefore we are ambassadors, God as it were exhorting by us. For Christ, we beseech you, be reconciled to God. |
| 2nd-Corinthians 5:21 | for him who did not know sin, in our behalf He did make sin, that we may become the righteousness of God in him. | For him who had no knowledge of sin God made to be sin for us; so that we might become the righteousness of God in him. | For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. | Him, who knew no sin, he hath made sin for us, that we might be made the justice of God in him. |
