Job 28:1Surely there is for silver a source, And a place for the gold they refine;Truly there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is washed out."Surely there is a mine for silver, And a place for gold which they refine.Silver hath beginnings of its veins, and gold hath a place wherein it is melted.
Job 28:2Iron from the dust is taken, And [from] the firm stone brass.Iron is taken out of the earth, and stone is changed into brass by the fire.Iron is taken out of the earth, And copper is smelted out of the ore.Iron is taken out of the earth, and stone melted with heat is turned into brass.
Job 28:3An end hath he set to darkness, And to all perfection he is searching, A stone of darkness and death-shade.Man puts an end to the dark, searching out to the farthest limit the stones of the deep places of the dark.Man sets an end to darkness, And searches out, to the furthest bound, The stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.He hath set a time for darkness, and the end of all things he considereth, the stone also that is in the dark and the shadow of death.
Job 28:4A stream hath broken out from a sojourner, Those forgotten of the foot, They were low, from man they wandered.He makes a deep mine far away from those living in the light of day; when they go about on the earth, they have no knowledge of those who are under them, who are hanging far from men, twisting from side to side on a cord.He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth.The flood divideth from the people that are on their journey, those whom the food of the needy man hath forgotten, and who cannot be come at.
Job 28:5The earth! from it cometh forth bread, And its under-part is turned like fire.As for the earth, bread comes out of it; but under its face it is turned up as if by fire.As for the earth, out of it comes bread; Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.The land, out of which bread grew in its place, hath been overturned with fire.
Job 28:6A place of the sapphire [are] its stones, And it hath dust of gold.Its stones are the place of sapphires, and it has dust of gold.Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold.The stones of it are the place of sapphires, and the clods of it are gold.
Job 28:7A path not known it hath a ravenous fowl, Nor scorched it hath an eye of the kite,No bird has knowledge of it, and the hawk's eye has never seen it.That path no bird of prey knows, Neither has the falcon's eye seen it.The bird hath not known the path, neither hath the eye of the vulture beheld it.
Job 28:8Nor trodden it have the sons of pride, Not passed over it hath the fierce lion.The great beasts have not gone over it, and the cruel lion has not taken that way.The proud animals have not trodden it, Nor has the fierce lion passed by there.The children of the merchants have not trodden it, neither hath the lioness passed by it.
Job 28:9Against the flint he sent forth his hand, He overturned from the root mountains.Man puts out his hand on the hard rock, overturning mountains by the roots.He puts forth his hand on the flinty rock, And he overturns the mountains by the roots.He hath stretched forth his hand to the flint, he hath overturned mountains from the roots.
Job 28:10Among rocks, brooks he hath cleaved, And every precious thing hath his eye seen.He makes deep ways, cut through the rock, and his eye sees everything of value.He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing.In the rocks he hath cut out rivers, and his eye hath seen every precious thing.
Job 28:11From overflowing floods he hath bound, And the hidden thing bringeth out [to] light.He keeps back the streams from flowing, and makes the secret things come out into the light.He binds the streams that they don't trickle; The thing that is hidden he brings forth to light.The depths also of rivers he hath searched, and hidden things he hath brought forth to light.
Job 28:12And the wisdom whence is it found? And where [is] this, the place of understanding?But where may wisdom be seen? and where is the resting-place of knowledge?"But where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?But where is wisdom to be found, and where is the place of understanding?
Job 28:13Man hath not known its arrangement, Nor is it found in the land of the living.Man has not seen the way to it, and it is not in the land of the living.Man doesn't know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.Man knoweth not the price thereof, neither is it found in the land of them that live in delights.
Job 28:14The deep hath said, `It [is] not in me,` And the sea hath said, `It is not with me.`The deep waters say, It is not in me: and the sea says, It is not with me.The deep says, 'It isn't in me.' The sea says, 'It isn't with me.'The depth saith: It is not in me: and the sea saith: It is not with me.
Job 28:15Gold is not given for it, Nor is silver weighed its price.Gold may not be given for it, or a weight of silver in payment for it.It can't be gotten for gold, Neither shall silver be weighed for its price.The finest gold shall not purchase it, neither shall silver be weighed in exchange for it
Job 28:16It is not valued with pure gold of Ophir, With precious onyx and sapphire,It may not be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the onyx of great price, or the sapphire.It can't be valued with the gold of Ophir, With the precious onyx, or the sapphire.It shall not be compared with the dyed colours of India, or with the most precious stone sardonyx, or the sapphire.
Job 28:17Not equal it do gold and crystal, Nor [is] its exchange a vessel of fine gold.Gold and glass are not equal to it in price, and it may not be exchanged for jewels of the best gold.Gold and glass can't equal it, Neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.Gold or crystal cannot equal it, neither shall any vessels of gold be changed for it.
Job 28:18Corals and pearl are not remembered, The acquisition of wisdom [is] above rubies.There is no need to say anything about coral or crystal; and the value of wisdom is greater than that of pearls.No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal: Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.High and eminent things shall not be mentioned in comparison of it: but wisdom is drawn out of secret places.
Job 28:19Not equal it doth the topaz of Cush, With pure gold it is not valued.The topaz of Ethiopia is not equal to it, and it may not be valued with the best gold.The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.The topaz of Ethiopia shall not be equal to it, neither shall it be compared to the cleanest dyeing.
Job 28:20And the wisdom whence doth it come? And where [is] this, the place of understanding?From where then does wisdom come, and where is the resting-place of knowledge?Whence then comes wisdom? Where is the place of understanding?Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
Job 28:21It hath been hid from the eyes of all living. And from the fowl of the heavens It hath been hidden.For it is kept secret from the eyes of all living, unseen by the birds of the air.Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, And kept close from the birds of the sky.It is hid from the eyes of all living. and the fowls of the air know it not.
Job 28:22Destruction and death have said: `With our ears we have heard its fame.`Destruction and Death say, We have only had word of it with our ears.Destruction and Death say, 'We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.'Destruction and death have said: With our ears we have heard the fame thereof.
Job 28:23God hath understood its way, And He hath known its place.God has knowledge of the way to it, and of its resting-place;"God understands its way, And he knows its place.God understandeth the way of it, and he knoweth the place thereof.
Job 28:24For He to the ends of the earth doth look, Under the whole heavens He doth see,For his eyes go to the ends of the earth, and he sees everything under heaven.For he looks to the ends of the earth, And sees under the whole sky.For he beholdeth the ends of the world: and looketh on all things that are under heaven.
Job 28:25To make for the wind a weight, And the waters He meted out in measure.When he made a weight for the wind, measuring out the waters;He establishes the force of the wind; Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.Who made a weight for the winds and weighed the waters by measure.
Job 28:26In His making for the rain a limit, And a way for the brightness of the voices,When he made a law for the rain, and a way for the thunder-flames;When he made a decree for the rain, And a way for the lightning of the thunder;When he gave a law for the rain, and a way for the sounding storms.
Job 28:27Then He hath seen and declareth it, He hath prepared it, and also searched it out,Then he saw it, and put it on record; he gave it its fixed form, searching it out completely.Then did he see it, and declare it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.Then he saw it, and declared, and prepared, and searched it.
Job 28:28And He saith to man: `Lo, fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom, And to turn from evil [is] understanding.`And he said to man, Truly the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and to keep from evil is the way to knowledge.To man he said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.'"And he said to man: Behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom: and to depart from evil, is understanding.
