In abundant justice there is the greatest strength: but the devices of the wicked shall be rooted out. |
| Proverbs 15:6 | [In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked trouble. | In the house of the upright man there is a great store of wealth; but in the profits of the sinner there is trouble. | In the house of the righteous is much treasure, But the income of the wicked brings trouble. | The house of the just is very much strength: and in the fruits of the wicked is trouble. |
| Proverbs 15:7 | The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right. | The lips of the wise keep knowledge, but the heart of the foolish man is not right. | The lips of the wise spread knowledge; Not so with the heart of fools. | The lips of the wise shall disperse knowledge: the heart of fools shall be unlike. |
| Proverbs 15:8 | The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight. | The offering of the evil-doer is disgusting to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright man is his delight. | The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, But the prayer of the upright is his delight. | The victims of the wicked are abominable to the Lord: the vows of the just are acceptable. |
| Proverbs 15:9 | An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth. | The way of the evil-doer is disgusting to the Lord, but he who goes after righteousness is dear to him. | The way of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, But he loves him who follows after righteousness. | The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: he that followeth justice is beloved by him. |
| Proverbs 15:10 | Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth. | There is bitter punishment for him who is turned from the way; and death will be the fate of the hater of teaching. | There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way: Whoever hates reproof shall die. | Instruction is grievous to him that forsaketh the way of life: he that hateth reproof shall die. |
| Proverbs 15:11 | Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men. | Before the Lord are the underworld and destruction: how much more, then, the hearts of the children of men! | Sheol and Abaddon are before Yahweh How much more then the hearts of the children of men! | Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the children of men? |
| Proverbs 15:12 | A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not. | The hater of authority has no love for teaching: he will not go to the wise. | A scoffer doesn't love to be reproved; He will not go to the wise. | A corrupt man loveth not one that reproveth him: nor will he go to the wise. |
| Proverbs 15:13 | A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten. | A glad heart makes a shining face, but by the sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. | A glad heart makes a cheerful face; But an aching heart breaks the spirit. | A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by grief of mind the spirit is cast down. |
| Proverbs 15:14 | The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly. | The heart of the man of good sense goes in search of knowledge, but foolish things are the food of the unwise. | The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge, But the mouths of fools feed on folly. | The heart of the wise seeketh instruction: and the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness. |
| Proverbs 15:15 | All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet. | All the days of the troubled are evil; but he whose heart is glad has an unending feast. | All the days of the afflicted are wretched, But one who has a cheerful heart enjoys a continual feast. | All the days of the poor are evil: a secure mind is like a continual feast. |
| Proverbs 15:16 | Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it. | Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great wealth together with trouble. | Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, Than great treasure with trouble. | Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without content, |
| Proverbs 15:17 | Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it. | Better is a simple meal where love is, than a fat ox and hate with it. | Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, Than a fattened calf with hatred. | It is better to be invited to herbs with love, than to a fatted calf with hatred. |
| Proverbs 15:18 | A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife. | An angry man makes men come to blows, but he who is slow to get angry puts an end to fighting. | A wrathful man stirs up contention, But one who is slow to anger appeases strife. | A passionate man stirreth up strifes: he that is patient appeaseth those that are stirred up. |
| Proverbs 15:19 | The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up. | Thorns are round the way of the hater of work; but the road of the hard worker becomes a highway. | The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch, But the path of the upright is a highway. | The way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns; the way of the just is without offence. |
| Proverbs 15:20 | A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother. | A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man has no respect for his mother. | A wise son makes a father glad, But a foolish man despises his mother. | A wise son maketh a father joyful: but the foolish man despiseth his mother. |
| Proverbs 15:21 | Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going. | Foolish behaviour is joy to the unwise; but a man of good sense makes his way straight. | Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom, But a man of understanding keeps his way straight. | Folly is joy to the fool: and the wise man maketh straight his steps. |
| Proverbs 15:22 | Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established. | Where there are no wise suggestions, purposes come to nothing; but by a number of wise guides they are made certain. | Where there is no counsel, plans fail; But in a multitude of counselors they are established. | Designs are brought to nothing where there is no counsel: but where there are many counsellors, they are established. |
| Proverbs 15:23 | Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season how good! | A man has joy in the answer of his mouth: and a word at the right time, how good it is! | Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time! | A man rejoiceth in the sentence of his mouth: and a word in due time is best. |
| Proverbs 15:24 | A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath. | Acting wisely is the way of life, guiding a man away from the underworld. | The path of life leads upward for the wise, To keep him from going downward to Sheol. | The path of life is above for the wise, that he may decline from the lowest hell. |
| Proverbs 15:25 | The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow. | The house of the man of pride will be uprooted by the Lord, but he will make safe the heritage of the widow. | Yahweh will uproot the house of the proud, But he will keep the widow's borders intact. | The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: and will strengthen the borders of the widow. |
| Proverbs 15:26 | An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness. | Evil designs are disgusting to the Lord, but the words of the clean-hearted are pleasing. | Yahweh detests the thoughts of the wicked, But the thoughts of the pure are pleasing. | Evil thoughts are an abomination to the Lord: and pure words most beautiful shall be confirmed by him. |
| Proverbs 15:27 | A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth. | He whose desires are fixed on profit is a cause of trouble to his family; but he who has no desire for offerings will have life. | He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, But he who hates bribes will live. | He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house: but he that hateth bribes shall live. By mercy and faith sins are purged away: and by the fear of the Lord every one declineth from evil. |

| Proverbs 15:31 | An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise. | The man whose ear is open to the teaching of life will have his place among the wise. | The ear that listens to the reproof lives, And will be at home among the wise. | The ear that heareth the reproofs of life, shall abide in the midst of the wise. |
| Proverbs 15:32 | Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding. | He who will not be controlled by training has no respect for his soul, but he who gives ear to teaching will get wisdom. | He who refuses correction despises his own soul, But he who listens to reproof gets understanding. | He that rejecteth instruction, despiseth his own soul: but he that yieldeth to reproof possesseth understanding. |
