| Proverbs 25:1 | Also these are Proverbs of Solomon, that men of Hezekiah king of Judah transcribed: | These are more wise sayings of Solomon, copied out by the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah. | These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out. | These are also parables of Solomon, which the men of Ezechias king of Juda copied out. |
| Proverbs 25:2 | The honour of God [is] to hide a thing, And the honour of kings to search out a matter. | It is the glory of God to keep a thing secret: but the glory of kings is to have it searched out. | It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. | It is the glory of God to conceal the word, and the glory of kings to search out the speech. |

| Proverbs 25:7 | For better [that] he hath said to thee, `Come thou up hither,` Than [that] he humble thee before a noble, Whom thine eyes have seen. | For it is better to have it said to you, Come up here; than for you to be put down in a lower place before the ruler. | For it is better that it be said to you, "Come up here," Than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom your eyes have seen. | For it is better that it should be said to thee: Come up hither; than that thou shouldst be humbled before the prince. |
| Proverbs 25:8 | Go not forth to strive, haste, turn, What dost thou in its latter end, When thy neighbour causeth thee to blush? | Do not be quick to go to law about what you have seen, for what will you do in the end, when your neighbour has put you to shame? | Don't be hasty in bringing charges to court. What will you do in the end when your neighbor shames you? | The things which thy eyes have seen, utter not hastily in a quarrel: lest after- ward thou mayst not be able to make amends, when thou hast dishonoured thy friend. |
| Proverbs 25:9 | Thy cause plead with thy neighbour, And the secret counsel of another reveal not, | Have a talk with your neighbour himself about your cause, but do not give away the secret of another: | Debate your case with your neighbor, And don't betray the confidence of another; | Treat thy cause with thy friend, and discover not the secret to a stranger: |

Grace and friendship deliver a man: keep these for thyself, lest thou fall under reproach. |
| Proverbs 25:11 | Apples of gold in imagery of silver, [Is] the word spoken at its fit times. | A word at the right time is like apples of gold in a network of silver. | A word fitly spoken Is like apples of gold in settings of silver. | To speak a word in due time, is like apples of gold on beds of silver. |
| Proverbs 25:12 | A ring of gold, and an ornament of pure gold, [Is] the wise reprover to an attentive ear. | Like a nose-ring of gold and an ornament of the best gold, is a wise man who says sharp words to an ear ready to give attention. | As an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, So is a wise reprover to an obedient ear. | As an earring of gold and a bright pearl, so is he that reproveth the wise, and the obedient ear. |
| Proverbs 25:13 | As a vessel of snow in a day of harvest, [So is] a faithful ambassador to those sending him, And the soul of his masters he refresheth. | As the cold of snow in the time of grain-cutting, so is a true servant to those who send him; for he gives new life to the soul of his master. | As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, So is a faithful messenger to those who send him; For he refreshes the soul of his masters. | As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to him that sent him, for he refresheth his soul. |
| Proverbs 25:14 | Clouds and wind, and rain there is none, [Is] a man boasting himself in a false gift. | As clouds and wind without rain, so is one who takes credit for an offering he has not given. | As clouds and wind without rain, So is he who boasts of gifts deceptively. | As clouds, and wind, when no rain followeth, so is the man that boasteth, and doth not fulfil his promises. |
| Proverbs 25:15 | By long-suffering is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh a bone. | A judge is moved by one who for a long time undergoes wrongs without protest, and by a soft tongue even bone is broken. | By patience a ruler is persuaded. A soft tongue breaks the bone. | By patience a prince shall be appeased, and a soft tongue shall break hardness. |
| Proverbs 25:16 | Honey thou hast found eat thy sufficiency, Lest thou be satiated [with] it, and hast vomited it. | If you have honey, take only as much as is enough for you; for fear that, being full of it, you may not be able to keep it down. | Have you found honey? Eat as much as is sufficient for you, Lest you eat too much, and vomit it. | Thou hast found honey, eat what is sufficient for thee, lest being glutted therewith thou vomit it up. |
| Proverbs 25:17 | Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour`s house, Lest he be satiated [with] thee, and have hated thee. | Let not your foot be frequently in your neighbour's house, or he may get tired of you, and his feeling be turned to hate. | Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor's house, Lest he be weary of you, and hate you. | Withdraw thy foot from the house of thy neighbour, lest having his fill he hate thee. |
| Proverbs 25:18 | A maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow, [Is] the man testifying against his neighbour a false testimony. | One who gives false witness against his neighbour is a hammer and a sword and a sharp arrow. | A man who gives false testimony against his neighbor Is like a club, a sword, or a sharp arrow. | A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour, is like a dart and a sword and a sharp arrow. |
| Proverbs 25:19 | A bad tooth, and a tottering foot, [Is] the confidence of the treacherous in a day of adversity. | Putting one's faith in a false man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth and a shaking foot. | Confidence in someone unfaithful in time of trouble Is like a bad tooth, or a lame foot. | To trust to an unfaithful man in the time of trouble, is like a rotten tooth, and weary foot, |
| Proverbs 25:20 | Whoso is taking away a garment in a cold day, [Is as] vinegar on nitre, And a singer of songs on a sad heart. | Like one who takes off clothing in cold weather and like acid on a wound, is he who makes melody to a sad heart. | As one who takes away a garment in cold weather, Or vinegar on soda, So is one who sings songs to a heavy heart. | And one that looseth his garment in cold weather. As vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to a very evil heart. As a moth doth by a garment, and a worm by the wood: so the sadness of a man consumeth the heart. |

| Proverbs 25:22 | For coals thou art putting on his head, And Jehovah giveth recompense to thee. | For so you will put coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will give you your reward. | For you will heap coals of fire on his head, And Yahweh will reward you. | For thou shalt heap hot coals upon his head, and the Lord will reward thee. |

| Proverbs 25:24 | Better to sit on a corner of a roof, Than [with] a woman of contentions, and a house of company. | It is better to be living in an angle of the house-top, than with a bitter-tongued woman in a wide house. | It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than to share a house with a contentious woman. | It is better to sit m a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman, and in a common house. |

| Proverbs 25:26 | A spring troubled, and a fountain corrupt, [Is] the righteous falling before the wicked. | Like a troubled fountain and a dirty spring, is an upright man who has to give way before evil-doers. | Like a muddied spring, and a polluted well, So is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked. | A just man falling down before the wicked, is as a fountain troubled with the foot, and a corrupted spring. |
| Proverbs 25:27 | The eating of much honey is not good, Nor a searching out of one`s own honour honour. | It is not good to take much honey: so he who is not looking for honour will be honoured. | It is not good to eat much honey; Nor is it honorable to seek ones own honor. | As it is not good for a man to eat much honey, so he that is a searcher of majesty, shall be overwhelmed by glory. |
| Proverbs 25:28 | A city broken down without walls, [Is] a man without restraint over his spirit! | He whose spirit is uncontrolled is like an unwalled town which has been broken into. | Like a city that is broken down and without walls Is a man whose spirit is without restraint. | As a city that lieth open and is not compassed with walls, so is a man that cannot refrain his own spirit in speaking. |
