| Psalms 10:1 | Why, Jehovah, dost Thou stand at a distance? Thou dost hide in times of adversity, | Why do you keep far away, O Lord? why are you not to be seen in times of trouble? | Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? | Why, O Lord, hast thou retired afar off? why dost thou slight us in our wants, in the time of trouble? |
| Psalms 10:2 | Through the pride of the wicked, Is the poor inflamed, They are caught in devices that they devised. | The evil-doer in his pride is cruel to the poor; let him be taken by the tricks of his invention. | In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak; They are caught in the schemes that they devise. | Unto the end. A psalm for David. |
| Psalms 10:3 | Because the wicked hath boasted Of the desire of his soul, And a dishonest gainer he hath blessed, He hath despised Jehovah. | For the evil-doer is lifted up because of the purpose of his heart, and he whose mind is fixed on wealth is turned away from the Lord, saying evil against him. | For the wicked boasts of his heart's cravings, He blesses the greedy, and condemns Yahweh. | In the Lord I put my trust: how then do you say to my soul: Get thee away from hence to the mountain like a sparrow? |
| Psalms 10:4 | The wicked according to the height of his face, inquireth not. `God is not!` [are] all his devices. | The evil-doer in his pride says, God will not make a search. All his thoughts are, There is no God. | The wicked, in the pride of his face, Has no room in his thoughts for God. | Whilst the wicked man is proud, the poor is set on fire: they are caught in the counsels which they devise. |
| Psalms 10:5 | Pain do his ways at all times, On high [are] Thy judgments before him, All his adversaries he puffeth at them. | His ways are ever fixed; your decisions are higher than he may see: as for his haters, they are as nothing to him. | His ways are prosperous at all times; He is haughty, and your laws are far from his sight: As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them. | For the sinner is praised in the desires of his soul: and the unjust man is blessed. |
| Psalms 10:6 | He hath said in his heart, `I am not moved,` To generation and generation not in evil. | He has said in his heart, I will not be moved: through all generations I will never be in trouble. | He says in his heart, "I shall not be shaken; For generations I shall have no trouble." | For, lo, the wicked have bent their bow; they have prepared their arrows in the quiver; to shoot in the dark the upright of heart. |
| Psalms 10:7 | Of oaths his mouth is full, And deceits, and fraud: Under his tongue [is] perverseness and iniquity, | His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and false words: under his tongue are evil purposes and dark thoughts. | His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression. Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity. | For they have destroyed the things which thou hast made: but what has the just man done? |

His eyes for the afflicted watch secretly, | He is waiting in the dark places of the towns: in the secret places he puts to death those who have done no wrong: his eyes are secretly turned against the poor. | He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless. | The sinner hath provoked the Lord according to the multitude of his wrath he will not seek him: |
| Psalms 10:9 | He lieth in wait in a secret place, as a lion in a covert. He lieth in wait to catch the poor, He catcheth the poor, drawing him into his net. | He keeps himself in a secret place like a lion in his hole, waiting to put his hands on the poor man, and pulling him into his net. | He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net. | God is not before his eyes: his ways are filthy at all times. Thy judgments are removed from his sight: he shall rule over all his enemies. |

He hath said in his heart, `It is not required.` | Why has the evil-doer a low opinion of God, saying in his heart, You will not make search for it? | Why does the wicked condemn God, And say in his heart, "God won't call me into account?" | His mouth is full of cursing, and of bitterness, and of deceit: under his tongue are labour and sorrow. |
| Psalms 10:14 | Thou hast seen, For Thou perverseness and anger beholdest; By giving into Thy hand, On Thee doth the afflicted leave [it], Of the fatherless Thou hast been an helper. | You have seen it; for your eyes are on sorrow and grief, to take it into your hand: the poor man puts his faith in you; you have been the helper of the child who has no father. | But you do see trouble and grief; You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless. | He shall rain snares upon sinners: fire and brimstone and storms of winds shall be the portion of their cup. |
| Psalms 10:15 | Break the arm of the wicked and the evil, Seek out his wickedness, find none; | Let the arm of the sinner and the evil-doer be broken; go on searching for his sin till there is no more. | Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none. | For the Lord is just, and hath loved justice: his countenance hath beheld righteousness. |

The nations will perish out of his land. | He sitteth in ambush with the rich in private places, that he may kill the innocent. |

Thou preparest their heart; Thou causest Thine ear to attend, | Lord, you have given ear to the prayer of the poor: you will make strong their hearts, you will give them a hearing: | Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear, | His eyes are upon the poor man: He lieth in wait in secret like a lion in his den. He lieth in ambush that he may catch the poor man: to catch the poor, whilst he draweth him to him. |
