Psalms 62:1To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Only toward God [is] my soul silent, From Him [is] my salvation.<To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. A Psalm. Of David.> My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation. My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom.
Psalms 62:2Only He [is] my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved. He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress I will never be greatly shaken.O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways!
Psalms 62:3Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down. How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling? How long will you assault a man, Would all of you throw him down, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory.
Psalms 62:4Only from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie, with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah.Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.)They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place. They delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips shall praise.
Psalms 62:5Only for God, be silent, O my soul, For from Him [is] my hope.My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my hope.My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my expectation is from him. Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.
Psalms 62:6Only He [is] my rock and my salvation, My tower, I am not moved. He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken.Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.
Psalms 62:7On God [is] my salvation, and my honour, The rock of my strength, my refuge [is] in God.In God is my salvation, and my glory; the Rock of my strength, and my safe place. With God is my salvation and my honor. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.If I have remembered thee upon my bed, I will meditate on thee in the morning:
Psalms 62:8Trust in Him at all times, O people, Pour forth before Him your heart, God [is] a refuge for us. Selah.Have faith in him at all times, you people; let your hearts go flowing out before him: God is our safe place. (Selah.)Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings:
Psalms 62:9Only vanity [are] the low, a lie the high. In balances to go up they than vanity [are] lighter.Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath.Surely men of low degree are just a breath, And men of high degree are a lie. In the balances they will go up. They are together lighter than a breath.my soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me.
Psalms 62:10Trust not in oppression, And in robbery become not vain, Wealth when it increaseth set not the heart.Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it.Don't trust in oppression. Don't become vain in robbery. If riches increase, Don't set your heart on them. But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth:
Psalms 62:11Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That `strength [is] with God.`Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's:God has spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongs to God.They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes.
Psalms 62:12And with Thee, O Lord, [is] kindness, For Thou dost recompense to each, According to his work! And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work. Also to you, Lord, belongs lovingkindness, For you reward every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah. But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things.
