Psalms 75:1To the Overseer. `Destroy not.` A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. We have given thanks to Thee, O God, We have given thanks, and near [is] Thy name, They have recounted Thy wonders.<To the chief music-maker; put to Al-tashheth. A Psalm. Of Asaph. A Song.> To you, O God, we give praise, to you we give praise: and those who give honour to your name make clear your works of power. We give thanks to you, God, We give thanks, for your Name is near. Men tell about your wondrous works.Unto the end, in praises, a psalm for Asaph: a canticle to the Assyrians.
Psalms 75:2When I receive an appointment, I I do judge uprightly. When the right time has come, I will be the judge in righteousness. When I choose the appointed time, I will judge blamelessly. In Judea God is known: his name is great in Israel.
Psalms 75:3Melted is the earth and all its inhabitants, I I have pondered its pillars. Selah. When the earth and all its people become feeble, I am the support of its pillars. (Selah.)The earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars. Selah. And his place is in peace: and his abode in Sion:
Psalms 75:4I have said to the boastful, `Be not boastful,` And to the wicked, `Raise not up a horn.`I say to the men of pride, Let your pride be gone: and to the sinners, Let not your horn be lifted up.I said to the arrogant, "Don't boast;" To the wicked, "Don't lift up the horn. There hath he broken the powers of bows, the shield, the sword, and the battie.
Psalms 75:5Raise not up on high your horn, (Ye speak with a stiff neck.)Let not your horn be lifted up: let no more words of pride come from your outstretched necks.Don't lift up your horn on high. Don't speak with a stiff neck."Thou enlightenest wonderfully from the everlasting hills.
Psalms 75:6For not from the east, or from the west, Nor from the wilderness [is] elevation. For honour does not come from the east, or from the west, or uplifting from the south; For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. All the foolish of heart were troubled. They have slept their sleep; and all the men of riches have found nothing in their hands.
Psalms 75:7But God [is] judge, This He maketh low and this He lifteth up.But God is the judge, putting down one, and lifting up another. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another. At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, they have all slumbered that mounted on horseback.
Psalms 75:8For a cup [is] in the hand of Jehovah, And the wine hath foamed, It is full of mixture, and He poureth out of it, Only its dregs wring out, and drink, Do all the wicked of the earth,For in the hand of the Lord is a cup, and the wine is red; it is well mixed, overflowing from his hand: he will make all the sinners of the earth take of it, even to the last drop. For in the hand of Yahweh there is a cup, Full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the earth drink and drink it to its very dregs.Thou art terrible, and who shall resist thee? from that time thy wrath.
Psalms 75:9And I I declare [it] to the age, I sing praise to the God of Jacob. But I will ever be full of joy, making songs of praise to the God of Jacob. But I will declare this forever: I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.Thou hast caused judgment to be heard from heaven: the earth trembled and was still,
Psalms 75:10And all horns of the wicked I cut off, Exalted are the horns of the righteous!By him will all the horns of the sinners be cut off; but the horns of the upright will be lifted up.I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. Psalm 76 For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm by Asaph. A song. When God arose in judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.
