Proverbs 9:1Wisdom hath builded her house, She hath hewn out her pillars seven.Wisdom has made her house, putting up her seven pillars.
Proverbs 9:2She hath slaughtered her slaughter, She hath mingled her wine, Yea, she hath arranged her table.She has put her fat beasts to death; her wine is mixed, her table is ready.
Proverbs 9:3She hath sent forth her damsels, She crieth on the tops of the high places of the city:She has sent out her women-servants; her voice goes out to the highest places of the town, saying,
Proverbs 9:4`Who [is] simple? let him turn aside hither.` Whoso lacketh heart: she hath said to him,Whoever is simple, let him come in here; and to him who has no sense, she says:
Proverbs 9:5`Come, eat of my bread, And drink of the wine I have mingled.Come, take of my bread, and of my wine which is mixed.
Proverbs 9:6Forsake ye, the simple, and live, And be happy in the way of understanding.Give up the simple ones and have life, and go in the way of knowledge.
Proverbs 9:7The instructor of a scorner Is receiving for it shame, And a reprover of the wicked his blemish.He who gives teaching to a man of pride gets shame for himself; he who says sharp words to a sinner gets a bad name.
Proverbs 9:8Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee, Give reproof to the wise, and he loveth thee.Do not say sharp words to a man of pride, or he will have hate for you; make them clear to a wise man, and you will be dear to him.
Proverbs 9:9Give to the wise, and he is wiser still, Make known to the righteous, And he increaseth learning.Give teaching to a wise man, and he will become wiser; give training to an upright man, and his learning will be increased.
Proverbs 9:10The commencement of wisdom [is] the fear of Jehovah, And a knowledge of the Holy Ones [is] understanding.The fear of the Lord is the start of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One gives a wise mind
Proverbs 9:11For by me do thy days multiply, And added to thee are years of life.For by me your days will be increased, and the years of your life will be long.
Proverbs 9:12If thou hast been wise, thou hast been wise for thyself, And thou hast scorned thyself bearest [it].If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if your heart is full of pride, you only will have the pain of it.
Proverbs 9:13A foolish woman [is] noisy, Simple, and hath not known what.The foolish woman is full of noise; she has no sense at all.
Proverbs 9:14And she hath sat at the opening of her house, On a throne the high places of the city,Seated at the door of her house, in the high places of the town,
Proverbs 9:15To call to those passing by the way, Who are going straight [on] their paths.Crying out to those who go by, going straight on their way, she says:
Proverbs 9:16`Who [is] simple? let him turn aside hither.` And whoso lacketh heart she said to him,Whoever is simple, let him come in here: and to him who is without sense, she says:
Proverbs 9:17`Stolen waters are sweet, And hidden bread is pleasant.`Drink taken without right is sweet, and food in secret is pleasing.
Proverbs 9:18And he hath not known that Rephaim [are] there, In deep places of Sheol her invited ones!But he does not see that the dead are there, that her guests are in the deep places of the underworld.
