Psalms 20:1To the Overseer. A Psalm of David. Jehovah doth answer thee, In a day of adversity, The name of the God of Jacob doth set thee on high,{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> May the Lord give ear to you in the day of trouble; may you be placed on high by the name of the God of Jacob;To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.
Psalms 20:2He doth send thy help from the sanctuary, And from Zion doth support thee,May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;May he send you help from the holy place, and give you strength from Zion;Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.
Psalms 20:3He doth remember all thy presents, And thy burnt-offering doth reduce to ashes. Selah.Remember all thine oblations, and accept thy burnt-offering; Selah.May he keep all your offerings in mind, and be pleased with the fat of your burned offerings; (Selah.)Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt-sacrifice. Selah.
Psalms 20:4He doth give to thee according to thy heart, And all thy counsel doth fulfil.Grant thee according to thy heart, and fulfil all thy counsels.May he give you your heart's desire, and put all your purposes into effect.Grant thee according to thy own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel.
Psalms 20:5We sing of thy salvation, And in the name of our God set up a banner. Jehovah doth fulfil all thy requests.We will triumph in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we set up our banners. Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions!We will be glad in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will put up our flags: may the Lord give you all your requests.We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions.
Psalms 20:6Now I have known That Jehovah hath saved His anointed, He answereth him from His holy heavens, With the saving might of His right hand.Now know I that Jehovah saveth his anointed; he answereth him from the heavens of his holiness, with the saving strength of his right hand.Now am I certain that the Lord gives salvation to his king; he will give him an answer from his holy heaven with the strength of salvation in his right hand.Now I know that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Psalms 20:7Some of chariots, and some of horses, And we of the name of Jehovah our God Make mention.Some make mention of chariots, and some of horses, but we of the name of Jehovah our God.Some put their faith in carriages and some in horses; but we will be strong in the name of the Lord our God.Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Psalms 20:8They they have bowed and have fallen, And we have risen and station ourselves upright.They are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen and stand upright.They are bent down and made low; but we have been lifted up.They are brought down and fallen: but we are raised, and stand upright.
Psalms 20:9O Jehovah, save the king, He doth answer us in the day we call!Save, Jehovah! Let the king answer us in the day we call.Come to our help, Lord: let the king give ear to our cry.Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
