| Psalms 53:1 | To the Overseer. `On a disease.` An instruction, by David. A fool said in his heart, `There is no God.` They have done corruptly, Yea, they have done abominable iniquity, There is none doing good. | {To the chief Musician. On Mahalath: an instruction. Of David.} The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God! They have corrupted themselves, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. | Unto the end, In verses, understanding for David. | The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none that doeth good. |
| Psalms 53:2 | God from the heavens looked on the sons of men, To see if there be an understanding one, [One] seeking God. | God looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. | When the men of Ziph had come and said to Saul: Is not David hidden with us? | God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God. |

| Psalms 53:5 | There they feared a fear there was no fear, For God hath scattered the bones of him Who is encamping against thee, Thou hast put to shame, For God hath despised them. | There were they in great fear, where no fear was; for God scattereth the bones of him that encampeth against thee. Thou hast put [them] to shame, for God hath despised them. | For strangers have risen up against me; and the mighty have sought after my soul: and they have not set God before their eyes. | There were they in great fear, where no fear was; For God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: Thou hast put them to shame, because of God hath rejected them. |
