| Psalms 26:1 | By David. Judge me, O Jehovah, for I in mine integrity have walked, And in Jehovah I have trusted, I slide not. | {[A Psalm] of David.} Judge me, O Jehovah, for I have walked in mine integrity, and I have confided in Jehovah: I shall not slip. | The psalm of David before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life: of whom shall I be afraid? | <Of David.> O Lord, be my judge, for my behaviour has been upright: I have put my faith in the Lord, I am not in danger of slipping. |
| Psalms 26:2 | Try me, O Jehovah, and prove me, Purified [are] my reins and my heart. | Prove me, Jehovah, and test me; try my reins and my heart: | Whilst the wicked draw near against me, to eat my flesh. My enemies that trouble me, have themselves been weakened, and have fallen. | Put me in the scales, O Lord, so that I may be tested; let the fire make clean my thoughts and my heart. |
| Psalms 26:3 | For Thy kindness [is] before mine eyes, And I have walked habitually in Thy truth. | For thy loving-kindness is before mine eyes, and I have walked in thy truth. | If armies in camp should stand together against me, my heart shall not fear. If a battle should rise up against me, in this will I be confident. | For your mercy is before my eyes; and I have gone in the way of your good faith. |
| Psalms 26:4 | I have not sat with vain men, And with dissemblers I enter not. | I have not sat with vain persons, neither have I gone in with dissemblers; | One thing I have asked of the Lord, this will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. That I may see the delight of the Lord, and may visit his temple. | I have not taken my seat with foolish persons, and I do not go with false men. |
| Psalms 26:5 | I have hated the assembly of evil doers, And with the wicked I sit not. | I have hated the congregation of evil-doers, and I have not sat with the wicked. | For he hath hidden me in his tabernacle; in the day of evils, he hath protected me in the secret place of his tabernacle. | I have been a hater of the band of wrongdoers, and I will not be seated among sinners. |
| Psalms 26:6 | I wash in innocency my hands, And I compass Thine altar, O Jehovah. | I will wash my hands in innocency, and will encompass thine altar, O Jehovah, | He hath exalted me upon a rock: and now he hath lifted up my head above my enemies. I have gone round, and have offered up in his tabernacle a sacrifice of jubilation: I will sing, and recite a psalm to the Lord. | I will make my hands clean from sin; so will I go round your altar, O Lord; |
| Psalms 26:7 | To sound with a voice of confession, And to recount all Thy wonders. | That I may cause the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and declare all thy marvellous works. | Hear, O Lord, my voice, with which I have cried to thee: have mercy on me and hear me. | That I may give out the voice of praise, and make public all the wonders which you have done. |
| Psalms 26:8 | Jehovah, I have loved the habitation of Thy house, And the place of the tabernacle of Thine honour. | Jehovah, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thy glory dwelleth. | My heart hath said to thee: My face hath sought thee: thy face, O Lord, will I still seek. | Lord, your house has been dear to me, and the resting-place of your glory. |
| Psalms 26:9 | Do not gather with sinners my soul, And with men of blood my life, | Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood; | Turn not away thy face from me; decline not in thy wrath from thy servant. Be thou my helper, forsake me not; do not thou despise me, O God my Saviour. | Let not my soul be numbered among sinners, or my life among men of blood; |
| Psalms 26:10 | In whose hand [is] a wicked device, And their right hand [is] full of bribes. | In whose hands are evil devices, and their right hand is full of bribes. | For my father and my mother have left me: but the Lord hath taken me up. | In whose hands are evil designs, and whose right hands take money for judging falsely. |
| Psalms 26:11 | And I, in mine integrity I walk, Redeem me, and favour me. | But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity. Redeem me, and be gracious unto me. | Set me, O Lord, a law in thy way, and guide me in the right path, because of my enemies. | But as for me, I will go on in my upright ways: be my saviour, and have mercy on me. |
| Psalms 26:12 | My foot hath stood in uprightness, In assemblies I bless Jehovah! | My foot standeth in an even place; in the congregations will I bless Jehovah. | Deliver me not over to the will of them that trouble me; for unjust witnesses have risen up against me; and iniquity hath lied to itself. | I have a safe resting-place for my feet; I will give praise to the Lord in the meetings of the people. |
