Job 7:1Is there not a warfare to man on earth? And as the days of an hireling his days?Hath not man a life of labour upon earth? and are not his days like the days of a hireling?The life of man upon earth is a warfare, and his days are like the days of a hireling.Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of a hireling?
Job 7:2As a servant desireth the shadow, And as a hireling expecteth his wage,As a bondman earnestly desireth the shadow, and a hireling expecteth his wages,As a servant longeth for the shade, as the hireling looketh for the end of his work;As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as a hireling looketh for the reward of his work;
Job 7:3So I have been caused to inherit months of vanity, And nights of misery they numbered to me.So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.So I also have had empty months, and have numbered to myself wearisome nights.So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.
Job 7:4If I lay down then I said, `When do I rise!` And evening hath been measured, And I have been full of tossings till dawn.If I lie down, I say, When shall I rise up, and the darkness be gone? and I am full of tossings until the dawn.If I lie down to sleep, I shall say: When shall arise? and again I shall look for the evening, and shall be filled with sorrows even till darkness.When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? and I am full of tossings to and fro to the dawning of the day.
Job 7:5Clothed hath been my flesh [with] worms, And a clod of dust, My skin hath been shrivelled and is loathsome,My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and suppurates.My flesh is clothed with rottenness and the filth of dust, my skin is withered and drawn together.My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken and become lothsome.
Job 7:6My days swifter than a weaving machine, And they are consumed without hope.My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.My days have passed more swiftly than the web is cut by the weaver, and are consumed without any hope.My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.
Job 7:7Remember Thou that my life [is] a breath, Mine eye turneth not back to see good.Remember thou that my life is wind; mine eye shall no more see good.Remember that my life is but wind, and my eyes shall not return to see good things.O remember that my life is wind: my eye will no more see good.
Job 7:8The eye of my beholder beholdeth me not. Thine eyes [are] upon me and I am not.The eye of him that hath seen me shall behold me no [more]: thine eyes are upon me, and I am not.Nor shall the sight of man behold me: thy eyes are upon me, and I shall be no more.The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: thy eyes are upon me, and I am not.
Job 7:9Consumed hath been a cloud, and it goeth, So he who is going down to Sheol cometh not up.The cloud consumeth and vanisheth away; so he that goeth down to Sheol shall not come up.As a cloud is consumed, and passeth away: so he that shall go down to hell shall not come up.As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more.
Job 7:10He turneth not again to his house, Nor doth his place discern him again.He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him again.Nor shall he return my more into his house, neither shall his place know him any more.He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more.
Job 7:11Also I I withhold not my mouth I speak in the distress of my spirit, I talk in the bitterness of my soul.Therefore I will not restrain my mouth: I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.Wherefore I will not spare my month, I will speak in the affliction of my spirit: I will talk with the bitterness of my soul.Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
Job 7:12A sea-[monster] am I, or a dragon, That thou settest over me a guard?Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, that thou settest a watch over me?Am I a sea, or a whale, that thou hast enclosed me in a prison?Am I a sea, or a whale, that thou settest a watch over me?
Job 7:13When I said, `My bed doth comfort me,` He taketh away in my talking my couch.When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint;If I say: My bed shall comfort me, and I shall be relieved speaking with myself on my couch:When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint;
Job 7:14And thou hast affrighted me with dreams, And from visions thou terrifiest me,Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions;Thou wilt frighten me with dreams and terrify me with visions.Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:
Job 7:15And my soul chooseth strangling, Death rather than my bones.So that my soul chooseth strangling, death, rather than my bones.So that my soul rather chooseth hanging, and my bones death.So that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life.
Job 7:16I have wasted away not to the age do I live. Cease from me, for my days [are] vanity.I loathe it; I shall not live always: let me alone, for my days are a breath.I have done with hope, I shall now live no longer: spare me, for my days are nothing.I lothe it; I would not live always: let me alone; for my days are vanity.
Job 7:17What [is] man that Thou dost magnify him? And that Thou settest unto him Thy heart?What is man, that thou makest much of him? and that thou settest thy heart upon him?What is a man that thou shouldst magnify him? or why dost thou set thy heart upon him?What is man, that thou shouldst magnify him? and that thou shouldst set thy heart upon him?
Job 7:18And inspectest him in the mornings, In the evenings dost try him?And that thou visitest him every morning, triest him every moment?Thou visitest him early in the morning, and thou provest him suddenly.And that thou shouldst visit him every morning, and try him every moment?
Job 7:19How long dost Thou not look from me? Thou dost not desist till I swallow my spittle.How long wilt thou not look away from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?How long wilt thou not spare me, nor suffer me to swallow down my spittle?How long wilt thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow my spittle?
Job 7:20I have sinned, what do I to Thee, O watcher of man? Why hast Thou set me for a mark to Thee, And I am for a burden to myself and what?Have I sinned, what do I unto thee, thou Observer of men? Why hast thou set me as an object of assault for thee, so that I am become a burden to myself?I have sinned: what shall I do to thee, O keeper of men? why hast thou set me opposite to thee, and I am become burdensome to myself?I have sinned; what shall I do to thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?
Job 7:21Thou dost not take away my transgression, And cause to pass away mine iniquity, Because now, for dust I lie down: And Thou hast sought me and I am not!And why dost not thou forgive my transgression and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I lie down in the dust, and thou shalt seek me early, and I shall not be.Why dost thou not remove my sin, and why dost thou not take away my iniquity? Behold now I shall sleep in the dust: and if thou seek me in the morning, I shall not be.And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.
