Job 9:1And Job answereth and saith:And Job answered and said,And Job answered, and said:Then Job answered and said,
Job 9:2Truly I have known that [it is] so, And what is man righteous with God?Of a truth I know it is so; but how can man be just with ùGod?Indeed I know it is so, and that man cannot be justified compared withI know it to be so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
Job 9:3If he delight to strive with Him He doth not answer him one of a thousand. If he shall choose to strive with him, he cannot answer him one thing of a thousand. If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one for a thousand. If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
Job 9:4Wise in heart and strong in power Who hath hardened toward Him and is at peace? He is wise in heart and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and had peace? He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath resisted him, and hath had peace ?He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
Job 9:5Who is removing mountains, And they have not known, Who hath overturned them in His anger.Who removeth mountains, and they know it not, when he overturneth them in his anger;Who hath removed mountains, and they whom he overthrew in his wrath, knew it not.Who removeth the mountains, and they know not: who overturneth them in his anger.
Job 9:6Who is shaking earth from its place, And its pillars move themselves.Who shaketh the earth out of its place, and the pillars thereof tremble;Who shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.Who shaketh the earth out of her place, and its pillars tremble.
Job 9:7Who is speaking to the sun, and it riseth not, And the stars He sealeth up.Who commandeth the sun, and it riseth not, and he sealeth up the stars;Who commandeth tile sun and it riseth not: and shutteth up the stars as it were under a seal:Who commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
Job 9:8Stretching out the heavens by Himself, And treading on the heights of the sea,Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the high waves of the sea;Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and walketh upon the waves of the sea.Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
Job 9:9Making Osh, Kesil, and Kimah, And the inner chambers of the south.Who maketh the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south;Who maketh Arcturus, and Orion, and Hyades, and the inner parts of the south.Who maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
Job 9:10Doing great things till there is no searching, And wonderful, till there is no numbering.Who doeth great things past finding out, and wonders without number.Who doth things great and incomprehensible, and wonderful, of which there is no number.Who doeth great things past finding out; yes, and wonders without number.
Job 9:11Lo, He goeth over by me, and I see not, And He passeth on, and I attend not to it.Lo, he goeth by me, and I see [him] not; and he passeth along, and I perceive him not.If he come to me, I shall not see him: if he depart I shall not understand.Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
Job 9:12Lo, He snatches away, who bringeth it back? Who saith unto Him, `What dost Thou?`Behold, he taketh away: who will hinder him? Who will say unto him, What doest thou?If he examine on a sudden, who shall answer him? or who can say: Why dost thou so?Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say to him, What doest thou?
Job 9:13God doth not turn back His anger, Under Him bowed have proud helpers.+God withdraweth not his anger; the proud helpers stoop under him:God, whose wrath no mall can resist, and under whom they stoop that bear up the world. If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
Job 9:14How much less do I I answer Him? Choose out my words with Him?How much less shall I answer him, choose out my words [to strive] with him? What am I then, that I should answer him, and have words with him?How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
Job 9:15Whom, though I were righteous, I answer not, For my judgment I make supplication.Whom, though I were righteous, [yet] would I not answer; I would make supplication to my judge.I, who although I should have any just thing, would not answer, but would make supplication to my judge.Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.
Job 9:16Though I had called and He answereth me, I do not believe that He giveth ear [to] my voice. If I had called, and he had answered me, I would not believe that he hearkened to my voice,And if he should hear me when I call, I should not believe that he had heard my voice. If I had called, and he had answered me; yet I would not believe that he had hearkened to my voice.
Job 9:17Because with a tempest He bruiseth me, And hath multiplied my wounds for nought. He, who crusheth me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause. For he shall crush me in a whirlwind, and multiply my wounds even without cause. For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
Job 9:18He permitteth me not to refresh my spirit, But filleth me with bitter things. He suffereth me not to take my breath, for he filleth me with bitternesses. He alloweth not my spirit to rest, and he filleth me with bitterness. He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
Job 9:19If of power, lo, the Strong One; And if of judgment who doth convene me?Be it a question of strength, lo, [he is] strong; and be it of judgment, who will set me a time?If strength be demanded, he is most strong: if equity of judgment, no man dare bear witness for me.If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?
Job 9:20If I be righteous, Mine mouth doth declare me wicked, Perfect I am! it declareth me perverse. If I justified myself, mine own mouth would condemn me; were I perfect, he would prove me perverse. If I would justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: if I would shew myself innocent, he shall prove me wicked. If I justify myself, my own mouth will condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, that also will prove me perverse.
Job 9:21Perfect I am! I know not my soul, I despise my life. Were I perfect, [yet] would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.Although I should be simple, even this my soul shall be ignorant of, and I shall be weary of my life.Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
Job 9:22It is the same thing, therefore I said, `The perfect and the wicked He is consuming.`It is all one; therefore I said, he destroyeth the perfect and the wicked. One thing there is that I have spoken, both the innocent and the wicked he consumeth. This is one thing, therefore I said it, he destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
Job 9:23If a scourge doth put to death suddenly, At the trial of the innocent He laugheth. If the scourge kill suddenly, he mocketh at the trial of the innocent. If he scourge, let him kill at once, and not laugh at the pains of the innocent. If the scourge shall slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.
Job 9:24Earth hath been given Into the hand of the wicked one. The face of its judges he covereth, If not where, who [is] he?The earth is given over into the hand of the wicked [man]; he covereth the faces of its judges. If not, who then is it?The earth is given into the hand of the wicked, he covereth the face of the judges thereof: and if it be not he, who is it then? The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of its judges; if not, where, and who is he?
Job 9:25My days have been swifter than a runner, They have fled, they have not seen good,And my days are swifter than a runner: they flee away, they see no good.My days have been swifter than a post: they have fled away and have not seen good. Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.
Job 9:26They have passed on with ships of reed, As an eagle darteth on food. They pass by like skiffs of reed; as an eagle that swoops upon the prey. They have passed by as ships carrying fruits, as an eagle flying to the prey. They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.
Job 9:27Though I say, `I forget my talking, I forsake my corner, and I brighten up!`If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my [sad] countenance, and brighten up,If I say: I will not speak so: I change my face, and am tormented with sorrow. If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself:
Job 9:28I have been afraid of all my griefs, I have known that Thou dost not acquit me.I am afraid of all my sorrows; I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.I feared all my works, knowing that thou didst not spare the offender.I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
Job 9:29I I am become wicked; why [is] this? [In] vain I labour.Be it that I am wicked, why then do I labour in vain? But if so also I am wicked, why have I laboured in vain?If I am wicked, why then do I labor in vain?
Job 9:30If I have washed myself with snow-water, And purified with soap my hands,If I washed myself with snow-water, and cleansed my hands in purity,If I be washed as it were with snow waters, and my hands shall shine ever so clean :If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;
Job 9:31Then in corruption Thou dost dip me, And my garments have abominated me.Then wouldest thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes would abhor me.Yet thou shalt plunge me in filth, and my garments shall abhor me,Yet wilt thou plunge me in the ditch, and my own clothes shall abhor me.
Job 9:32But if a man like myself I answer him, We come together into judgment. For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him; that we should come together in judgment. For I shall not answer a man that is like myself: nor one that may be heard with me equally in judgment. For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.
Job 9:33If there were between us an umpire, He doth place his hand on us both. There is not an umpire between us, who should lay his hand upon us both. There is none that may be able to reprove both, and to put his hand between both.Neither is there any judge between us, that might lay his hand upon us both.
Job 9:34He doth turn aside from off me his rod, And His terror doth not make me afraid,Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his terror make me afraid,Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me.Let him take away his rod from me, and let not his fear terrify me:
Job 9:35I speak, and do not fear Him, But I am not right with myself.[Then] I will speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.I will speak, and will not fear him: for I cannot answer while I am in fear. Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.
