And the righteous as a young lion is confident. The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion. The wicked man fleeth, when no man pursueth: but the just, bold as a lion, shall be without dread. The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:2By the transgression of a land many [are] its heads. And by an intelligent man, Who knoweth right it is prolonged.By the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding [and] of knowledge, [its] stability is prolonged. For the sine of the land many are the princes thereof: and for the wisdom of a man, and the knowledge of those things that are said, the life of the prince shall be prolonged. For the transgression of a land many are its princes: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
Proverbs 28:3A man poor and oppressing the weak, [Is] a sweeping rain, and there is no bread.A poor man who oppresseth the helpless is a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.A poor man that oppresseth the poor, is like a violent shower, which bringeth a famine.A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
Proverbs 28:4Those forsaking the law praise the wicked, Those keeping the law plead against them. They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them. They that forsake the law, praise the wicked man: they that keep it, are incensed against him. They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
Proverbs 28:5Evil men understand not judgment, And those seeking Jehovah understand all.Evil men understand not judgment; but they that seek Jehovah understand everything.Evil men think not on judgment: but they that seek after the Lord, take notice of all things.Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
Proverbs 28:6Better [is] the poor walking in his integrity, Than the perverse of ways who is rich.Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse, double in ways, though he be rich.Better is the poor man walking in his simplicity, than the rich in crooked ways.Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he is rich.
Proverbs 28:7Whoso is keeping the law is an intelligent son, And a friend of gluttons, Doth cause his father to blush.Whoso observeth the law is a son that hath understanding; but he that is a companion of profligates bringeth shame to his father. He that keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that feedeth gluttons, shameth his father. He who keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
Proverbs 28:8Whoso is multiplying his wealth by biting and usury, For one favouring the poor doth gather it.He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.He that heapeth together riches by usury and loan, gathereth them for him that will be bountiful to the poor.He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
Proverbs 28:9Whoso is turning his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer [is] an abomination. He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. He that turneth away his ears from hearing the law, his prayer shall be as abomination. He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Proverbs 28:10Whoso is causing the upright to err in an evil way, Into his own pit he doth fall, And the perfect do inherit good.Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, shall himself fall into his own pit; but the perfect shall inherit good.He that deceiveth the just in a wicked way, shall fall in his own destruction: and the upright shall possess his goods.Whoever causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
Proverbs 28:11A rich man is wise in his own eyes, And the intelligent poor searcheth him.A rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.The rich man seemeth to himself wise: but the poor man that is prudent shall search him out.The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor man that hath understanding searcheth him out.
Proverbs 28:12In the exulting of the righteous the glory [is] abundant, And in the rising of the wicked man is apprehensive. When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men conceal themselves. In the joy of the just there is great glory: when the wicked reign, men are ruined. When righteous men rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
Proverbs 28:13Whoso is covering his transgressions prospereth not, And he who is confessing and forsaking hath mercy. He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall obtain mercy. He that hideth his sins, shall not prosper: but he that shall confess, and forsake them, shall obtain mercy. He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but he who confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Proverbs 28:14O the happiness of a man fearing continually, And whoso is hardening his heart falleth into evil.Happy is the man that feareth always; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.Blessed is the man that is always fearful: but he that is hardened in mind, shall fall into evil.Happy is the man that feareth always: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

Proverbs 28:16A leader lacking understanding multiplieth oppressions, Whoso is hating dishonest gain prolongeth days. The prince void of intelligence is also a great oppressor: he that hateth covetousness shall prolong [his] days.A prince void of prudence shall oppress many by calumny: but he that hateth covetousness, shall prolong his days. The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

Proverbs 28:22Troubled for wealth [is] the man [with] an evil eye, And he knoweth not that want doth meet him.He that hath an evil eye hasteth after wealth, and knoweth not that poverty shall come upon him.A man, that maketh haste to be rich, and envieth others, is ignorant that poverty shall come upon him.He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
