| Psalms 49:1 | To the Overseer. By sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples, Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world. | {To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.} Hear this, all ye peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world: | A psalm for Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord hath spoken: and he hath called the earth. From the rising of the sun, to the going down thereof: | To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: |
| Psalms 49:2 | Both low and high, together rich and needy. | Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike. | out of Sion the loveliness of his beauty. | Both low and high, rich and poor together. |
| Psalms 49:3 | My mouth speaketh wise things, And the meditations of my heart [are] things of understanding. | My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding: | God shall come manifestly: our God shall come, and shall not keep silence. A fire shall burn before him: and a mighty tempest shall be round about him. | My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. |

Sheol [is] a dwelling for him. | Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them. | Offer to God the sacrifice of praise: and pay thy vows to the most High. | Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. |
| Psalms 49:15 | Only, God doth ransom my soul from the hand of Sheol, For He doth receive me. Selah. | But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. Selah. | And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. | But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. |
| Psalms 49:16 | Fear not, when one maketh wealth, When the honour of his house is abundant, | Be not afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased: | But to the sinner God hath said: Why dost thou declare my justices, and take my covenant in thy mouth ? | Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; |
| Psalms 49:17 | For at his death he receiveth nothing, His honour goeth not down after him. | For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him. | Seeing thou hast hated discipline: and hast cast my words behind thee. | For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. |
