| Psalms 10:1 | Why, Jehovah, dost Thou stand at a distance? Thou dost hide in times of adversity, | Why, Jehovah, standest thou afar off? [Why] hidest thou thyself in times of distress? | Why, O Lord, hast thou retired afar off? why dost thou slight us in our wants, in the time of trouble? | Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? |
| Psalms 10:2 | Through the pride of the wicked, Is the poor inflamed, They are caught in devices that they devised. | The wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined. | Unto the end. A psalm for David. | In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak; They are caught in the schemes that they devise. |

From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless. |
