| Isaiah 14:1 | Because Jehovah loveth Jacob, And hath fixed again on Israel, And given them rest on their own land, And joined hath been the sojourner to them, And they have been admitted to the house of Jacob. | For Jehovah will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in rest in their own land; and the stranger shall be united to them, and they shall be joined to the house of Jacob. | For Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the sojourner shall join himself with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. | Her time is near at hand, and her days shall not be prolonged. For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose out of Israel, and will make them rest upon their own ground: and the stranger shall be joined with them, and shall adhere to the house of Jacob. |
| Isaiah 14:2 | And peoples have taken them, And have brought them in unto their place, And the house of Israel have inherited them, On the land of Jehovah, For men-servants and for maid-servants, And they have been captors of their captors, And have ruled over their exactors. | And the peoples shall take them and bring them to their place; and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of Jehovah for servants and handmaids; and they shall take them captive whose captives they were, and they shall rule over their oppressors. | The peoples shall take them, and bring them to their place; and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of Yahweh for servants and for handmaids: and they shall take them captive whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors. | And the people shall take them, and bring them into their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall make them captives that had taken them, and shall subdue their oppressors. |
| Isaiah 14:3 | And it hath come to pass, In the day of Jehovah`s giving rest to thee, From thy grief, and from thy trouble, And from the sharp bondage, That hath been served upon thee, | And it shall come to pass in the day that Jehovah shall give thee rest from thy sorrow and from thy trouble and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve, | It shall happen in the day that Yahweh shall give you rest from your sorrow, and from your trouble, and from the hard service in which you were made to serve, | And it shall come to pass in that day, that when God shall give thee rest from thy labour, and from thy vexation, and from the hard bondage, wherewith thou didst serve before, |
| Isaiah 14:4 | That thou hast taken up this simile Concerning the king of Babylon, and said, How hath the exactor ceased, | that thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased, the exactress of gold ceased! | that you shall take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say, How has the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased! | Thou shalt take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and shalt say: How is the oppressor come to nothing, the tribute hath ceased? |
| Isaiah 14:5 | Ceased hath the golden one. Broken hath Jehovah the staff of the wicked, The sceptre of rulers. | Jehovah hath broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of the rulers. | Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers; | The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, the rod of the rulers, |
| Isaiah 14:6 | He who is smiting peoples in wrath, A smiting without intermission, He who is ruling in anger nations, Pursuing without restraint! | He that smote the peoples in wrath with a relentless stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted unsparingly. | who struck the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, who ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that none restrained. | That struck the people in wrath with an incurable wound, that brought nations under in fury, that persecuted in a cruel manner. |
| Isaiah 14:7 | At rest quiet hath been all the earth, They have broken forth [into] singing. | The whole earth is at rest, is quiet: they break forth into singing. | The whole earth is at rest, [and] is quiet: they break forth into singing. | The whole earth is quiet and still, it is glad and hath rejoiced. |
| Isaiah 14:8 | Even firs have rejoiced over thee, Cedars of Lebanon [saying]: Since thou hast lain down, The hewer cometh not up against us. | Even the cypresses rejoice at thee, the cedars of Lebanon, [saying,] Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us. | Yes, the fir-trees rejoice at you, [and] the cedars of Lebanon, [saying], Since you are laid low, no lumberjack is come up against us. | The fir trees also have rejoiced over thee, and the cedars of Libanus, saying: Since thou hast slept, there hath none come up to cut us down. |
| Isaiah 14:9 | Sheol beneath hath been troubled at thee, To meet thy coming in, It is waking up for thee Rephaim, All chiefs ones of earth, It hath raised up from their thrones All kings of nations. | Sheol from beneath is moved for thee to meet [thee] at thy coming, stirring up the dead for thee, all the he-goats of the earth; making to rise from their thrones all the kings of the nations. | Sheol from beneath is moved for you to meet you at your coming; it stirs up the dead for you, even all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. | Hell below was in an uproar to meet thee at thy coming, it stirred up the giants for thee. All the princes of the earth are risen up from their thrones, all the princes of nations. |
| Isaiah 14:10 | All of them answer and say unto thee, Even thou hast become weak like us! Unto us thou hast become like! | All of them shall answer and say unto thee, Art thou also become powerless as we; art thou become like unto us! | All they shall answer and tell you, Are you also become weak as we? are you become like us? | All shall answer, and say to thee: Thou also art wounded as well as we, thou art become like unto us. |
| Isaiah 14:11 | Brought down to Sheol hath been thine excellency, The noise of thy psaltery, Under thee spread out hath been the worm, Yea, covering thee is the worm. | Thy pomp is brought down to Sheol, the noise of thy lyres: the maggot is spread under thee, and worms cover thee. | Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, [and] the noise of your viols: the worm is spread under you, and worms cover you. | 11Thy pride is brought down to hell, thy carcass is fallen down: under thee shall the moth be strewed, and worms shall be thy covering. |
| Isaiah 14:12 | How hast thou fallen from the heavens, O shining one, son of the dawn! Thou hast been cut down to earth, O weakener of nations. | How art thou fallen from heaven, Lucifer, son of the morning! Thou art cut down to the ground, that didst prostrate the nations! | How you are fallen from heaven, day-star, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low! | How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who didst rise in the morning? how art thou fallen to the earth, that didst wound the nations? |
| Isaiah 14:13 | And thou saidst in thy heart: the heavens I go up, Above stars of God I raise my throne, And I sit in the mount of meeting in the sides of the north. | And thou that didst say in thy heart, I will ascend into the heavens, I will exalt my throne above the stars of ùGod, and I will sit upon the mount of assembly, in the recesses of the north; | You said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit on the mountain of congregation, in the uttermost parts of the north; | And thou saidst in thy heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit in the mountain of the covenant, in the sides of the north. |

| Isaiah 14:16 | Thy beholders look to thee, to thee they attend, Is this the man causing the earth to tremble, Shaking kingdoms? | They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee; they shall consider thee, [saying,] Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that shook kingdoms; | Those who see you shall gaze at you, they shall consider you, [saying], "Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms; | They that shall see thee, shall turn toward thee, and behold thee. Is this the man that troubled the earth, that shook kingdoms, |
| Isaiah 14:17 | He hath made the world as a wilderness, And his cities he hath broken down, Of his bound ones he opened not the house. | [that] made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; [that] dismissed not his prisoners homewards? | who made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities of it; who didn't let loose his prisoners to their home?" | That made the world a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof, that opened not the prison to his prisoners? |

| Isaiah 14:19 | And thou hast been cast out of thy grave, As an abominable branch, raiment of the slain, Thrust through ones of the sword, Going down unto the sons of the pit, As a carcase trodden down. | but thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, covered with the slain those thrust through with the sword, that go down to the stones of the pit: like a carcase trodden under foot. | But you are cast forth away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit; as a dead body trodden under foot. | But thou art cast out of thy grave, as an unprofitable branch defiled, and wrapped up among them that were slain by the sword, and art gone down to the bottom of the pit, as a rotten carcass. |
| Isaiah 14:20 | Thou art not united with them in burial, For thy land thou hast destroyed, Thy people thou hast slain, Not named to the age is the seed of evil doers. | Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial; for thou hast destroyed thy land, hast slain thy people. Of the seed of evildoers no mention shall be made for ever. | You shall not be joined with them in burial, because you have destroyed your land, you have killed your people; the seed of evil-doers shall not be named forever. | Thou shalt not keep company with them, even in burial: for thou hast destroyed thy land, thou hast slain thy people: the seed of the wicked shall not be named for ever. |
| Isaiah 14:21 | Prepare ye for his sons slaughter; Because of the iniquity of their fathers, They rise not, nor have possessed the land, Nor filled the face of the world [with] cities. | Prepare ye slaughter for his children, because of the iniquity of their fathers; that they may not rise up and possess the earth, nor fill the face of the world with cities. | Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers, that they not rise up, and possess the earth, and fill the surface of the world with cities. | Prepare his children for slaughter for the iniquity of their fathers: they shall not rise up, nor inherit the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities. |
| Isaiah 14:22 | And I have risen up against them, (The affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts,) And have cut off, in reference to Babylon, Name and remnant, and continuator and successor, The affirmation of Jehovah. | For I will rise up against them, saith Jehovah of hosts, and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and scion and descendant, saith Jehovah. | I will rise up against them, says Yahweh of Hosts, and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and son and son's son, says Yahweh. | And I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will destroy the name of Babylon, and the remains, and the bud, and the offspring, saith the Lord. |
| Isaiah 14:23 | And have made it for a possession of a bittern, And ponds of waters, And daubed it with the mire of destruction, The affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts! | And I will make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water; and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith Jehovah of hosts. | I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the broom of destruction, says Yahweh of Hosts. | And I will make it a possession for the ericius and pools of waters, and I will sweep it and wear it out with a besom, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| Isaiah 14:24 | Sworn hath Jehovah of Hosts, saying, `As I thought so hath it not been? And as I counselled it standeth; | Jehovah of hosts hath sworn saying, Assuredly as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, it shall stand: | Yahweh of Hosts has sworn, saying, Surely, as I have thought, so shall it happen; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: | The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying: Surely as I have thought, so shall it be: and as I have purposed, |
| Isaiah 14:25 | To break Asshur in My land, And on My mountains I tread him down, And turned from off them hath his yoke, Yea, his burden from off their shoulder turneth aside. | to break the Assyrian in my land; and upon my mountains will I tread him under foot; and his yoke shall depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. | that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulder. | So shall it fall out: That I will destroy the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: and his yoke shall be taken away from them, and his burden shall be taken off their shoulder. |
| Isaiah 14:26 | This [is] the counsel that is counselled for all the earth, And this [is] the hand that is stretched out for all the nations. | This is the counsel which is purposed concerning the whole earth; and this is the hand which is stretched out upon all the nations. | This is the purpose that is purposed on the whole earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out on all the nations. | This is the counsel, that I have purposed upon all the earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all nations. |
| Isaiah 14:27 | For Jehovah of Hosts hath purposed, And who doth make void? And His hand that is stretched out, Who doth turn it back?` | For Jehovah of hosts hath purposed, and who shall frustrate [it]? And his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back? | For Yahweh of Hosts has purposed, and who shall annul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back? | For the Lord of hosts hath decreed, and who can disannul it? and his hand is stretched out: and who shall turn it away? |
| Isaiah 14:28 | In the year of the death of king Ahaz was this burden: | In the year of the death of king Ahaz was this burden: | In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden. | In the year that king Achaz died, was this burden: |
| Isaiah 14:29 | Rejoice not thou, Philistia, all of thee, That broken hath been the rod of thy smiter, For from the root of a serpent cometh out a viper, And its fruit [is] a flying saraph. | Rejoice not thou, Philistia, all of thee, because the rod that smote thee is broken; for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a viper, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent. | Don't rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, because the rod that struck you is broken; for out of the serpent's root shall come forth an adder, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent. | Rejoice not thou, whole Philistia, that the rod of him that struck thee is broken in pieces: for out of the root of the serpent shall come forth a basilisk, and his seed shall swallow the bird. |
| Isaiah 14:30 | And delighted have the first-born of the poor, And the needy in confidence lie down, And I have put to death with famine thy root, And thy remnant it slayeth. | And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety; but I will kill thy root with famine, and thy remnant shall be slain. | The firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety; and I will kill your root with famine, and your remnant shall be killed. | And the firstborn of the poor shall be fed, and the poor shall rest with confidence: and I will make thy root perish with famine, and I will kill thy remnant. |
| Isaiah 14:31 | Howl, O gate; cry, O city, Melted art thou, Philistia, all of thee, For from the north smoke hath come, And there is none alone in his set places. | Howl, O gate! cry, O city! thou, Philistia, art wholly dissolved; for there cometh from the north a smoke, and none remaineth apart in his gatherings [of troops]. | Howl, gate; cry, city; you are melted away, Philistia, all of you; for there comes a smoke out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks. | Howl, O gate; cry, O city: all Philistia is thrown down: for a smoke shall come from the north, and there is none that shall escape his troop. |
| Isaiah 14:32 | And what doth one answer the messengers of a nation? `That Jehovah hath founded Zion, And in it do the poor of His people trust!` | And what shall be answered to the messengers of the nation? That Jehovah hath founded Zion, and the afflicted of his people find refuge in it. | What then shall one answer the messengers of the nation? That Yahweh has founded Zion, and in her shall the afflicted of his people take refuge. | And what shall be answered to the messengers of the nations? That the Lord hath founded Sion, and the poor of his people shall hope in him. |
